Perhaps the place that "rebuilt" the coilovers is to blame?

I have had a similar issue as a seller. I sold a pair of d2 coilovers to a person on the forum. These coilovers came off my car that was in storage. The buyer came to find that one of the rear units was blown. He checked the units prior to install and contacted me. I sent him a refund in the amount it would cost to get a new insert. I have no idea about rebuilding the units since a brand new insert is less than $150.00.

Don't think you should have even considered buying crap K-Sports to begin with

Don't think I have seen a set in recent memory that was not blown and/or (supposedly) rebuilt at some point in it's lifetime

Thanks for your opinion, but I'd like to see some facts.

I'm a little confused however because you say you are lemon200sx, but lemon200sx claims to be the one who bought them and that he is disney here.

I've been on it for a while, but I bought the coilovers on here is why I posted this here. Didn't know he was on the dash until I did a google for his name and it popped up. I told him I would post this on every site he's on so that's what i'm trying to do.

i'm Disney on the dash...

I've received pictures and been promised receipt for rebuild from Jeremy. Waiting on more information from both sides.

Thanks

Subsequently he took sole use of the lemon200sx account on sr20forums. I have no reason to use the account anymore since I don't own a 200sx anymore.

I can guarantee that this car was driven one day on these coilovers. It is no where near to street legal, so road miles are zero.

Bob

Ok that makes sense, but you have to understand both of you claiming to be a single user seemed odd. I also believe it is against TOS that you agree to on there to share an account.

So if it was driven only one day why did it take 4 weeks before trying to contact seller? (I am trying to get timeline/story straight) Did you guys happen to take any pictures before/after install?

I in no way doubt the k-sports blew. It is just trying to establish when/how and rectify the situation.

Please understand we take scams very serious here, but also don't just fly off the handle with no information.

Thanks
Nathan

I think the ball is in the seller's court since he stated they were rebuilt. Who rebuilt them? Jiffy Lube? I know that they were never rebuilt just by the state of the collars. If he comes up with a receipt I suggest that Disney calls the company and asks if they have ever rebuilt a set of shocks under the sellers name.

Bob

AST is right behind my office. I know Brian and the guys well.

I am trying to get information from the seller. He stated that they were rebuilt, zero miles, but they sat on a car for several months without running drivetrain. He told me he degreased and washed them before shipping them, which is actually a no-no with the cheap anodize coating on them, since the degrease doesn't agree with the anodize. Which IMO is why they were probably siezed so badly.

Thanks

This still sounds fishy, especially now by the buyer. You are both professional and you didn't bother to check the inserts after you found the collars were bad ? That is the first thing I would have done after disassembly. It's not that hard to do either. Compact the insert and sees if it rebounds decently. I did that with the AGXs I bought off Ebay for $200. Price was fishy and sure enough rears were shot and fronts were almost shot.

Then again I'm just a shade tree mechanic that works in an office designing water and wastewater facilities so what do I know. I do know, and I can't stress this enough I WOULD NOT HAVE INSTALLED THEM!! I would rather risk my race on a set of stock springs and struts then taken a blown set of coilovers. Again I want to live so maybe you have a death wish I don't know.

Again I'm not trying to defend jeremy, but right now there is only talking and not proofing. I geuss the longer jer holds off on sending that info to wnwright the more incriminating it's going to get for him.

I have switched phones over the course of this transaction from DroidX to the Galaxy S3 so I don't have the earliers text messages with me.

I do have this stuff though....

Paid on 6/18. Parts recieved 7/6. Installed 8/1. Tested 8/4. Contacted Jeremy 8/7.

Look, I know it's easy to monday morning quarterback this transaction now. Looking back I wouldn't have messed with it at all.

BUT... I bought these as being freshly rebuilt. I had no reason to doubt that so I had no reason to further disassemble them to check the validity of that. Most of you here are stating the same things I thought.... He's been a solid seller for year and seems like a good guy. I trusted him. Foolish me.

Bottom line is this... These parts were advertised as freshly rebuilt. They were not. Anything outside of that, however stupid of a buyer I may be, however terrible of a mechanic and racecar builder i may be has NOTHING to do with the fact that I got ripped off on purpose. You advertise something to maximise your profits and deliver something other than that and you're scamming me. Even in his reply to WNWRIGHT he states that they weren't freshly rebuilt!!! He says they sat on his car for months before he took them off to burn me on them.

I have the fucking receipt from way back when I got them rebuilt here, I threw them on the car so the car would be supported by something off of jack stands in the driveway when I got them back. I left them where they put them after they took them apart and just put them on the car without adjusting cause I wasn't gonna drive it. So they say there in the car for how ever many months until I got the agx's to put on.

Freshly rebuilt? Or freshly removed from your car so you could shove them up some unsuspecting buyers ass?
