This is a hard one. while i DESPISE the guy i just bought my nx from.....He claimed it was rust free, i asked him to check the strut towers, as i couldnt inspect it myself as i was 6 hours away.....he looked, saw rust, and LIED to me, i bought the car, and am now trying to save it before it gets out of hand. I understand the frustration, but as a SELLER, along as being a BUYER, its your responsibility to check for these things. I have people constantly pestering me about "drivability". well, its a car. THEY BREAK. While im sure theres more to the story, and im not starting anything or taking sides, theres a few things BUYERS need to start becoming aware of.
A: STOP thinking that you can drive modded cars home. Unless the car has a HISTORY as a modded daily driver, dont even freaking ask. get a dolly or a trailer, and tow it home.
B: Vehicle inspection is YOUR responsibility. while i understand people who are out of state cant do this easily....if its a problem, dont buy it. Use YOUR eyes, and judgement. If you dont know what to look for, you dont need to be buying it.
C: do your research. we live in the information age, and EVERYTHING on this car has been documented. i almost bought it from keo....i just couldnt deal with the body damage. thats me personally, i know what bothers me, and 5 minutes of research from my lazy ass showed me all i needed to know.
THAT BEING SAID. To douchebag sellers that CLAIM their cars are rust free, if you make this claim with a nissan, you better god damn do your research. Theres NO EXCUSE for making a bold ass claim like that when you havent "looked it over very well". no excuse, at all, ever. if its rust free, its freaking rust free. if you dont know, you dont freaking know.
Not trying to start anything between either party, this particular cicumstance has just triggered some thoughts as to both sides. at the end of the day, know what your selling, and know what your buying. otherwise, go buy a fucking camry.
