Not to mention that is industrial (process) engineering... NOT mechanical. Doesn't mean shit anyways.

I ran my car with that ecu for 2 years before having an apexi power fc custom tune put in. Well the guy emailed paypal and filed a claim in 2 weeks for a refund. I would not give him money back until he mailed it back to me. I think he had a wiring issue in his car and finally had a shop repair it for him. Well after he gave me negative feedback for my efforts he also would not drop the claim with paypal since he had to send in a tracking number to get the return. Never came and finally it timed out. Another guy I sold a 60 dollar s14 starter to on eBay said he never got it even though I sent it out priority mail and it showed deliver confirmation. I just said screw it and gave him his money back.

That is what the OP was stating is that he does not want to do business with those types and that is his decision. I own an 06 A4 2.0 turbo and it is faster than the NX I own. As far as the NX, I have restored a lot of it, the bumper has been reworked, the hatch has been leaked proof and I installed a pioneer digital media center with sirius radio. IMO it is a nice car, however it is 20 years old and not perfect. Did I pay too much? probably but it is still nicer than the 150-200 thousand mile NXs in autotrader from time to time that sell for 2500 to 3500 dollars. Is the mileage fake, I do not know? I thought about doing something but in the end it was not worth my time. Cause while the mileage could not be determined the fact that it was wrecked in the rear end made me question anything this guy said. I can tell you something though I will never buy another car ever off of FleBay with out looking at it first.

WTF???
Who is this guy referring to??
Ban was well deserved.
Good luck with your NX,jamanrr.I dont think you are gonna get much help on your car here anymore.Obviously you re still butthurt about your NX .
We arent the ones that fucked you on that deal, yet we are the douchebags??...

Just go trolling somewhere else...like the Audi forums.
....PLEASE

Back on topic.
I am sorry to see what has happenned to OEM,but after seeing some other posts and scams on other forums,I guess its good riddance.Scary what Google brought up on these guys.
I am local and have been to the shop and bought a couple small things. No real problems for me,but apparently I am an exception.
I had plans to buy a bunch more parts from them, but I will pass.

People bitch about this community running off vendors...and there are some people here that may make things hard for them....but overall,we are just trying to protect ourselves from the bad ones.
Its not THAT hard to please most of us.There are many other members and vendors who go above and beyond for us and make QUALITY parts, with GREAT service after the fact..
ALL you have to do is what you say you are gonna do...thats it!!
If not,as a small business owner,it is your responsibility to make YOUR messups right....regardless of what it costs out of pocket.

Apparently,Mark has not taken OEM seriously...he stated it was not a full time job and its extra money. That alone proves where he stands on this.

Have fun with your Lasers, hope it keeps you busy, and try not to shoot your retinas out

Guys - I know I am not a SR20 owner, but I do actively sell as a vendor here (in the general vendors section), as well as mainly in the Z31 community.

I've only been doing this for about a year, but I can tell you a few things I've learned quickly and taken to heart:

#1) I only sell things that I have on hand, or that my machinist and I have been able to design or test fit. I don't believe in external funded development/group buys, or anything of that nature. If we think its a worthwhile project, we'll spend the money upfront and build prototypes. We fit them, change things if necessary, and THEN, offer them for sale. I find that I feel better about it having put my hard earned cash upfront to do the development work, than charging someone to build something, sending it to them and then having issues that could have been dealt with earlier in the production cycle. That leads me to....

#2) I only tackle projects at a speed and scope I can handle. Guys, I can not tell you how much I'd love to tackle products and projects for a whole host of cars I think are cool, could use development support, etc. My list of stuff I'd like to do, and stuff I've been asked to do, are a mile long. But I only make a few products right now (mostly for the Z31 300ZX). Why? Because of what seems to have happened here in this case with this vendor. You get trying to hustle up all the money you can, trying to make all things and be all things to all people, and you end up with a bunch of substandard parts, and unhappy customers. I'm not at all interested in going that route, and would rather pace myself.

3) Customer service is the most important thing to me, as a vendor, as a buyer, and just generally as a person. I do not think that this can be emphasized enough. I run the Acadiana Sports Car Orphanage as basically a second job, so I am not available for normal business hours as I have a day job. HOWEVER, I guarantee every phone call gets responded to, every email gets answered, and every customer question or concern gets the utmost attention. I don't have a well known company, and when you're a small fish in a big pond, I think you have to make service and quality your calling cards. In fact, when I am buying something from a business, I try to find out just as much about how they deal with customers as I do about the product itself.

It's a shame that these guys chose to run their operation in the way that they did, and I feel bad for those who got hoodwinked out of cash, parts and other things. At least they were finally dealt with now, and not continued to abuse this community.

That's my .02.
Thanks
Zack

I'm ashamed to admit I've never heard of some of these vendors.

I think it'd be nice if we all took the time and visited some of the vendors threads and gave feedback on the vendors that go out of our way to treat us right!

We hardly acknowledge that it's even more difficult to run a business on a public forum than it is to operate a feedback-less store front.

I responded to Jammanar. In hindsight, I may have been a tad irritated and a bit less than pleasant.

My post got deleted in about 3-seconds. Poof. .....

I really do appreciate the Staff around here. You guys do a terrific job overall and in particular I appreciate your patience with me.

Zack, you stated that perfectly.

Your 2-cents is pure gold.

Agreed.

Is anyone spreading the word on O.E.M. to other related car forums? Maybe a link to a few of these threads and a heads-up on O.E.M.? At least to Staff?

I am not on any other car forums. Kinda narrow focused, but I know plenty of you guys are on mulitple fourms.

Shawn - I appreciate that.

Really, the worst part of it is that for every unworthy vendor on a car forum, there are at least 20 good, reputable, small vendors. When things happen such as have been stated in this thread, it also can affect the guys who do things right by causing fewer and fewer people to buy from the small guys.

I wrote a several paragraph post below this, but I don't want to start any trouble as a professional courtesy. I will note that I saw several holes in OEM's side of the story/response from a business standpoint.
