SR20GTi-R aka JAMIE
Also known as Jamie from CT. To make a long story short... I had my car for sale, Jamie bought it. His friend Mark(MarkSR20), really good guy, was also with him. I talked to Mark a bit online and by phone. I also had other members vouch for him, so I reluctantly allowed them to drive with my tags on the car. They promised to return it as soon as the got back. Fast forward a MONTH later and I still do not have my tags and I'm not hearing from Jamie at all. He finally sent me a message last week that he sent it next day. Well, my tags still aren't here and I can't even get a tracking # from him.

I was trying to be lenient and not file a police report because that mean I will have to give up there info, even Mark's, but now I feel I have no choice. I can't drop my insurance without returning my tags to the MVA, so I'm stuck paying $130 for a car I no longer own. If I drop my insurance and without giving the tags to the MVA, I'll be charged $150, plus $7 everyday after 30 days.

All I'm asking for is my tags. I helped Jamie and Mark out so they could drive home legally. The least he can do is return my tags. This is ridiculous!

That's pretty messed up. I can't see why you can't drive the car without tags. Here in GA you have 30 days from the day of purchase to get your tags. All you need is insurance. Most insurance places have 24/7 1-800 numbers where you can call and transfer your insurance right away.

Yeah but that's phucked up on their part. Sounds like returning the tags ahs been put on the back burner. Problem is, if you ever sell a car to someone , you're gonna say to hell with them, let them find their own way to drive it legally.

Like a domino effect....I guess file a report, i mean it IS your a$$ on the line .

these tags have been shipped out... You've been stated about the situation at hand. You will have a response by PM from Jamie himself. I understand where your at but if you couldnt understand what was going on (which you were stated by Jamie) then im not sure if I want to deal with this forum anymore.

And thats the truth.

Your judging the whole forum by just one member, who happens to be in a tight spot?

This forum has the same members as the other forums, just better leadership and is not owned by a corporation...

damn man. from what i see mark is a good guy i think i actually talked to him a couple of times on the old forum. but in reality i dont see how hard it is to send some tags back in the mail. i know people get lazy and wait a couple of days to send stuff cause im guilty of it but when you have people spending money on a car they dont even have anymore to help somebody else out is kind of a bad look. max he should have had them tags a in week or less .. but then again i dont know the whole story

you should have your tags already... I thought this was taken care of. You and Jamie spoke about this situation and now ur on the forum with this. I didnt know this was a problem, you called me and I called Jamie and he has a tracking number for you. Let us know when you get the plates right on this thread since everythings out in the open now.

Theres more information that was brought to redrims attention, but I am not at liberty to say. I understand as in my first post " where redrims is at with this" but have a little sympathy is what Im getting at.

I don't even see how you should be involved with this, Mark. You were there, that merely means that you were there. You had no involvement with the transaction, I assume, so why should anyone put your name out there?

Sure I don't have the full story, but unless money exchanged YOUR hands with the previous owner, then the seller has no right to call you out in a thread.

OP - Be careful if you decide to file a police report. It will only be YOU at fault, if they find that you left the tags on the car after you had sold it. Technically, regardless of word of mouth, the tags belong to the buyer as you left them on the car. It's no different than leaving an amplifier in the trunk and asking for it back later, when the buyer purchases another amplifier.
