^Yes. This is what we need to be doing. gtswrx are you directing your comments towards anybody in this thread? Just curious. I'm trying to be consturctive like Cory stated and not get things done that I don't need done. Is it such a bad thing that I ask for more direction on what to have done to suit my build. I have money in hand, just looking for a little help is all.

By all means, if we can make them drop the price a bit and keep doing good work then its all gain, as long as criticism keeps being constructive.

Well, correct: not a waste, but unjustifiable time/effort investment.

In the end, soldering daughterboards and investigating ECU things was not worth it or as you better put it, not providing good $ for family and more like a hobby.

On top of that there were a lot of people complaining about wait times for the ECU and about how Calum didnt answer their emails to give them a program for Brian Crower Stage 2 intake cam and Stage 3 exhaust cam at +7/-3 to run during night time on gravel and 20" rims...

As I said earlier, I can see why these guys/companies decided not to invest time in the SR20 anymore, cant blame them.

I figure i might as well put my 2 cents in here since i have Mazworx building my 2.4lt as we speak. for those that make the comment you have to pay to play you are making a uneducated blanket statement. yes some things cost money but good work and parts are not based on there price but on how they perform.

i personally chose to use Mazworx because of there reputation and how they seem to want to help further the FWD sr20 community. what i don't agree with is nickle and diming people. i think they should make there pricing a little more clear cut. example they have some package deals they list on the forums and there website but they don't always include all the information you need. i have spent more than a couple phone calls with Eric at Mazworx getting explanation on things that were not clear on there site/quotes.

Andreas make the point about the machining of the front cover why not just include that in the price of the sleeve install since you know it has to be done. IE sleeve block up from $320 to $360 since it might take you 10 min to put the cover on or even use the belt sander for 10 min to shave it in spec. it would make the price sheets cleaner and less confusing.

No, I'm not being paid by Mazworx and it's not like I want to wag the tail for them. Everybody is expressing opinions and I expressed mine, so no, not directed at you.

As I stated before, sure you have the right to decide how to spend your hard earned money and avoid paying anything not essential.

But I don't think is fair to say these guys are thieves or give them negative feedback because they want to charge more (not that you did that either). It is optional, you can always go somewhere else if you feel pricing is not right.

If in the end constructive criticism makes them lower their prices, woooohaaa. I just hope it doesnt turn destructive and make them say, you know what SR20 people are no business for us, lets go build some GTRs instead.

I have to agree with Mr. Sentra specV, they do good work but have their ways with nickle and diming. I personally think it's whoever answers the phone (Brian?) When I called to get a quote he recommended the most retarded shit ever, trying to get me to buy things I don't need. I just play dumb and laugh because when I switch it up and talk like I know what's going on, everything changes.

I guess it's just the saleman mentality.

when i called to have them do a block they wouldn't install the sleeves without doing the rest of the work...mark told me they "have" to do the rest of the work...sooooo a $600 sleeving job instantly turned into 2k, so i went elsewhere

personally, their reputation of doing great work is what is going to make me a customer eventually. I got quoted for $1850 for a prepped SR20 block to 92mm bore.

here's how they broke down my quote:

This is for a RR 4cw SR20 block, where I am having a lowport head ported & polished for this and hoping to get 200 whp reliably...

The prices seem fair considering many factors, including their great customer service, reputation and great communications.. They respond quickly to emails and are no-nonsense about what they are doing.. I spoke with Eric when I called.
