I sent OEM a $90 deposit for the lower Control arms a few months ago. I waited patiently for them to finish the parts. Then I had my accident. http://www.sr20-forum.com/members-rides/36090-i-got-t-boned-last-night-my-way-track.html
So I contacted Mark and explained my situation where all my funds where to get into another vehicle and I couldn’t afford to buy parts for a car that was totaled.
He explained to me that he “is running a business” and that my deposit would not be reimbursed, however that I could contact another forum member and see if they would fill in the spot that I had reserved…
Should I consider my deposit at a loss too?? No one ever filled my spot…
Should I pay the balance and try to get the lower- control arms? Maybe sell them back to the forum? (that's if he does it)
Just wanted to see what you guys think?

If the deposit wasn't described as non-refundable then go after him with a lawyer / small claims court / strongly worded letter.
If otherwise, just chalk it up as a loss and move on. Do not give Mark more money.
Don't try to get someone else to take your spot. That's not likely to happen, and would you want one more member to have to deal with Mark?

+1 billion

Mark has taken a stance that our community is at fault for his problems (lack of communication, shifting lead times, abilty to make a quality product, etc). He doesn't want to deal with us anymore because we called him out for his BS.

Prior to sending my deposit I was never told that it would be non refundable. But --> "This is a business" excuse basically told me that I’m F****d out of my deposit.

I will not be sending him any more money!! As far as taking him to court; well I just don't justify spending time off work, not to mention hiring a Lawyer $$$$ for $90.

I guess I can be added to the list.

I don’t post much in here, But I have been keeping up with much of the mess that OEM made. All I have to say is, WOW!! Hard to believe half the shit that was done. Although its sad to have one less supporter, I think we are better off supporting the few that we have..

Good luck to all of you that are still struggling with mark.

I know I have 2 sets of the control arms, in my NX and in the B14. I also know that Jimithin7000 has purchased a set. Has anyone else picked up a set? I had the B14 at Gran Turismo this week for some tires and an alignment. Jeff said he thought the control arm itself was a nice sturdy piece, but he was "not comfortable" with the design of the heim joint. He would have felt better if it was 3/4" instead of 1/2', but he also said that he was not an engineer. He has referred me to a local guy who is an engineer and builds race cars for further analysis and recommendations. So if anyone else has a set, I would recommend not installing them yet till I get word back from the engineer. It may be all good as it is, it may be something that is fixable, and it may be a write off. I will post more info as soon as I get it.

BTW, Jeff didn't feel it was dangerous for normal street driving. But we all know that track driving is much harder on equipment that normal driving, and he was concerned of a failure under stress at 100+ mph.

When I bought the B14 from Rodney it needed an exhaust. It had an ebay header that was welded together to a mismatched, cobbled up, catless exhaust. I picked up an ASP budget header really cheap and dropped it off along with a header wrap kit from DEI and a new cat.

I know how to wrap a header correctly, I wrapped the SSAC on my NX back before the Chicago convention:

You wet the wrap, wrap tightly, use steel zip ties, then let it dry totally and finally spray it with a sealer. The header install and wrap were supposed to be a favor for leaving my car to do the carbon fiber fitment stuff. I was buying an exhaust from them (Overkill). Here is what I found:

Also, if you remember that I said I heard exhaust leaks when we picked up the car. The leaks were due to the fact that there were only 5 of the 8 bolts holding the header to the motor. 1 exhaust stud was broken in the block and 2 other studs were missing altogether. To be able to pass emissions, I had to hook up all the egr stuff so the ASP had to go anyways. I thought I would be able to ride the rollers, but '97 has to hook up and read the ecu so all codes had to be cleared. I was able to remove the broken stud, replace it with a new in the box Hotshot header I picked up from Greg several years ago:

I was saving it for Tiffany's B15, but that car is staying 100% stock I also had to replace the O2 sensor and get a new egr tube. I forgot how much more room the HS leaves compared to most other headers I have used:

In any case, the exhaust leak is gone now. And on a positive note, the 2.5" exhaust I bought from Mark fits well, doesn't drone, and is quiet so it was not a total loss.
