Do not support Overkill.
Here is my experience with a very unprofessional shop that I will never recommend for the smallest of work or parts.
I spent time researching and trying to find the right exhaust and finally decided on Overkill Engineering. Bad mistake. This was after 2 weeks of emails back and forth with Mark trying to learn as much as I can before I order. He essentially tells me everything I want to hear. I order my (P11) 2000 infiniti g20t specific catback from them with a couple other parts; total order, $750!
I receive the parts over a month or so after ordering on 5/13 (my cc was charged on 4/10 though). It takes me a bit of time to actually get to the point where I had time to install it. I fiddle with it for about a week and the catback was very ill fitting to the point where the muffler section butts right up against the bumper cover notch and the 3rd rear hanger on the muffler barely makes contact with the rubber exhaust hanger. The arced portion of the exhaust sits way off of the exhaust tunnel and then hits the bottom of the car when tightened down. The midpipe portion is hanging really low. See pics below of this high quality work.
I contact Mark on 7/13. A day or two go by before I get a reply and he asks for pics. I send pics and days later after inquiring again, he replies stating that his exhaust guy wants me to bend the hangers on the muffler and it won't hit the bottom of the car...however, totally ignoring the fact the midpipe is already hanging really low and the rubber exhaust hangers are barely making contact keeping the exhaust up. Making it hang lower doesn't seem to be a concern for them however. I don't take his advice since I did not want to modify something that is NEW and should fit right from the get go since they claim they've done hundreds of these (yet no one on any forum is able to confirm they have done any for a P11). After another set of emails back and forth, I send him pics of the exhaust hung by zip ties to show them how low the midpipe will hang, essentially simulating bending the hangers.
All this take a lot of time out of my day and meanwhile, my car is sitting idle for 2.5 weeks now before Mark decides the part doesn't fit. At this point, I did request a refund. He ignores my request and tells me that they are making a new midpipe for me and it will be shipped out "this week". I contact him the week after for a status and I'm told I'm too impatient!!! This was after he missed his first estimate and coming from the guy who takes 2 days to reply per email to customers in immediate need. Meanwhile I'm the one short a lot of money, I'm the one waiting around for replies, and I’m the one with a car sitting on jackstands for weeks.
Another week goes by and now we're on week 4 and no parts and my car is still sitting idle. This time, I emailed Mark and told him not send me anything and I want a refund. This was today. I made a big stink out of it and contacted paypal. Mark is then finally is able to reply without waiting two days (GASP!). He wants to charge me the restocking fees FOR PARTS THAT DON"T FIT!!!! While I pay the shipping back! He states that all exhausts they sell need "tweaking" but somehow forgot to mention this to me with the half dozen emails I sent him BEFORE I purchased the exhaust. I have every single email archived.
I waited long enough for new parts and somehow, after I make a stink about it and demand a refund, Mark tells me they’re ready to be shipped this week (heard that before). How lame? He does not in any way try to compensate me for my time and if I wasn’t on his case throughout this, he probably would’ve taken days if not weeks to reply. I should never have to threaten a shop with going public or demand a refund in order to get parts that I paid for to fit right. On top of all that, he's not even gracious enough to reduce the restocking fee and still expects it. The exhaust is going back and we'll let paypal decide if fees are to be charged.
I had it with this and am now going public after protecting them for weeks. I posted on g20.net private member section about my experience and did not even mention their name. One guy immediately guessed from my experience that the shop was indeed Overkill. How? He had very similar experience with them: delayed replies, nonchalant attitudes, parts that don't fit, insulting to customer. They seem to have a quiet rep for crapping on their customers. I'll be the first to put it out there.
