Looks like I'm on the wrong end of this one. Paypal cannot do anything since it's been past 45 days since the transaction and neither will my cc company.

I decided to call Mark. I can't say he was rude or anything, in fact, he was nice to talk to. He tells me the new midpipe should be at my house today. I didn't like hearing that since he again ignored my request for a refund, but I'm at his mercy at this point. Even if I were to return it, he'll stiff me on the restocking fees and I can't do anything about it.

I'll try the new midpipe and see if this thing lines up any better. If not, then I start the process of calling him back and getting the muffler portion redone. What a PITA experience this has been.

Like others have said, they are a small company that was estabilished to help our community out. I would rather have parts and maybe need to tweak them a bit than nothing at all.

That would have been a very easy fix for any muffler shop or someone with a cutter and welder. Looks like just a bit of pipe needed to be cut off to drop and move that rear section down and to the left a bit.

But i see your point, if im gonna pay $750 for an exhaust i want it to fit properly. Thats a good chunk of change. This is why i always have had exhausts done by exhaust shops. Not only do you get perfect fitment the first time, you can chose the size, muffler, resonator or whatever right there or before hand. Never have to worry about it again after that.

My buddy had his full 3" exhaust done for his 200sx with a VE at a local shop, he just brought in his own 3" turbo muffler which cost him $80 and the guy made his exhaust from the header back for like $300, all manderal bent piping. So complete awesome sounding exhaust for less than $400

^ Yes but that probably wasn't stainless steel.

I ordered one from them a while ago, pretty much a prototype of the b14 3". I do have to say it has never fit right. I wanted a detachable muffler delete pipe which they just welded to it so they sent me a new muffler delete so I had to cut and do my own magic to make it work at this time I just said fu*k it i'll get a muffler. The bend over the rear beam is terrible, if i were to correctly make the 2 pipes attach there i'm pretty sure the bend would be through the floor. So it has to be tilted on the bubble attachment thing? not sure on the name. Really i need a new exhaust for this to even fit right, but I have had such problems that I just don't care, it doesnt bang on the frame rail so w.e.

Also had my valve cover powder coated by them...not the best of work. they also made me a plug cover for the gti-r manifold, i installed it and my holes were stripped i had like 4 of them in to hold it that i thought would be good, it fell off on my intake manifold one day....luckly i didn't loose it. So only way I'm doing business with them again is for little things like cooling plates and such, just to support someone who makes something for our cars and hopefully they'll get better as they have been growing as a company.

ashtonsser, hindsight is 20/20 and I probably should have just gone to a local shop. I also decided to support a shop making parts for our cars which is why I bought from them. I also ordered something right off of their site, not special ordered or anything so good fitment for a shop making parts for our cars isn't something that should be a problem, especially for just a catback.

Also to clear things up, the catback did not cost $750. It cost around the $450 or a bit more range. I also bought a powder coated CAI from them which is the additional cost.

Last thing for today, I got the new midpipe. From what I can tell, the angles are the same except this one is a couple inches shorter. I see exactly what they did and I can forecast how it will fit. It will not hit the bottom of the car, but the angle still might be wrong. We'll see. I'll try to install it this weekend.

LikeTheMovies, thanks for posting your experience. Looks like I'm not the only one with issues here but you're more tolerant than I am.

VRS makes quality exhaust systems for our cars. I have bought two and I swear by them.

I am sure OEM will get it down, but it will take some time and a few unhappy/not completely satisfied customers.

I had the VRS piping kit, I didn't like it. So I took a chance with OEM. Don't get me wrong the part is great quality they defiantly have a awesome welder. Just a little more work and it would have been perfect. I could have complained and probably got new pipes, but I absolutely hate exhaust's I have never had good luck with them so i'll just leave it how it is haha

And I'm sure they will get better as they progress, that's why I'm not giving up on them quite yet lol

I'm still kind of suprised they haven't seen this thread yet and commented - it is after all 2 spots lower than their sponsor section!

One would hope the craftsmanship would improve for sure, but customer service isn't rocket science and is very important when you're in the process of creating and improving new products.
