Hurricane Sandy cars in Canada!!
*** BUYER BEWARE ***
Just a warning for Canadian residents who are going to be purchasing used cars in the coming months. Damaged cars from hurricane Sandy are about to (if not already) make their way into Canada. They will first show up in Ontario and Quebec, followed by the east coast and then head out west.
Make sure to do your homework before purchasing used vehicles from dealers/auctions and especially dealers who import vehicles form the USA!
If and when you purchase a used vehicle that is coming from the US, make sure you get all the necessary reports and ask lots of questions. More specifically, ask the dealer about the current state of the car (water damage/electrical damage) and get his responses in writing. Email responses are a great way to have a conversation record. If the dealer refuses to put anything in writing or if he says he doesn't know the complete state (past and present) of the car, steer clear of this car and this dealer!
