Shannonville SMP SR20ve lap
I made some suspension changes and went out last weekend to Touge.ca track day in Shannonville. I found that I had too much static camber for the amount of caster custom front arms gave me so I decreased it a bit and found increased front end grip. Here is the best lap of the day (and personal best) last weekend with minimum traffic:

That was a great lap. What tires are you using?

~6 year old RA-1's with 60% thread left, they grip very well but slide slightly more than my NT-01's.

How much power and torque are you making with your VE? Must be nice chasing down BMWs however these newer ones are really porky.

I am not sure about the power, internally stock VE, i/h/e, custom tune, I am guessing it's making somewhere in the 17X hp and 13X ftlbs at the wheels.
B15 tranny makes the car a lot quicker as well.
You'll be suprised how fast those twin turbo BMW can be, it is very easily to get 400ft lbs at the wheels with few bolt-ons.

Thanks, the car's potential is still higher than my abilities, but I try to push it a bit harder each time on the track, learning something new each time - that's what makes it exciting for me (and honestly that's what tracking a car should be about).

I know what you mean all too well.... you never stop learning no matter how experienced you are on the track.

How hot was the motor oil getting on these fast laps? Water coolant temps? I've read about the b15 trans into b13 trans install. How'd you tackle the sensor wiring problem on the b15 trans? From the how to that issue was just left blank. I'm sure others have figured it out though. Are you getting a lot of play in the shifter as a result of trimming that one support rod bracket?

Great vid. You're giving me more inspiration to get moving and get my new black NX on the road .
