I'm really amazed at people now of days...You guys do realize that before calum ever decided to offer his service to the forum you were paying $500 for a jwt ecu that couldn't be tuned? I understand people didnt get back their ecus fast enough or whatever but this man is a working man and did this on the side to benefit the community. Now he is probably done with the forum and to be honest I dont blame him one bit.

Look guys, the whole Calum operation is one person who works his butt off in his spare time. He has a day job and doesn't need the ecu money, he does it because he enjoys making neat things for people who will enjoy them. Calum is one the coolest members of the community that I've had the pleasure of meeting and he is the type of person who would give you the shirt off his own back if you needed it. Whether it takes one month, or 6 months to get your ecu its worth the wait.

If you want something right away there are other options like AEM, Megasquirt etc...

The reason he doesn't email people back promptly sometimes is because he has to weed through the bull****. You would not believe how many people email him asking him to burn new bins on their roms if they send them to him, or to email them new bins. People don't understand, he sells HARDWARE, not the program.

It is not his responsibility to provide you with a program to suit your setup......but he does. It's YOU'RE responsibility to do your own tuning, or get different programs from other people or from the forum. I'm not singling you out with this response either.

I understand he has a lot of customers and personal issues that he has to deal with. Its his responsibility weed out the bull**** and get back to poeple that Paid for his services. I have no intention of bad mouthing him and I'm glad that he does this for the community. If the service was free I would of expect the delay. Maybe I'm not patient enough to wait 2-3 months for the ecu and pay insurance for a car that sits in my driveway but that's my personal issue.

finally someone else who sees my point of view. everyone who needs real time, look for alternatives. Nistune is the way to go, or hit up OLDMAN on this forum for basic boards. Calum's ecus will soon become what JWT are now, which would be the past.

one last thing, how come he is on the other forum so often and posts more over there when he has customers on both forums? maybe his personal issues are just with the people on this forum?

I will have to disagree with you on the "services" part. You are buying the hardware, ECU, it is up to you to figure out the rest. Even JWT doesn't provide the service, they provide the hardware. They do offer a tune to go with it, but not quiet the service. You have to pay $100 if you want a new tune.

Those of us that tend to help ourselfs instead of just b*tching and moaning don't seem to have any issues with Calum or his hardware.

I spent the money on a real time because I was planning on getting into tuning. At first I asked Calum for some tunes (for new injectors and MAF etc.), but then realized how easy it is just to manipulate my current tune to accept new items.

I know this is harder for basic guys, buy a moats chip burner and some chips and go at it. If not then find someone on the forum that can burn you chips and or customize tunes.

Indeed. I knew nothing about tuning a week ago. Started doing my research, looking through tunes and xdf files. Ive already learned how to change maf and injectors. Also oldman is able to provide basic ecu services now with calum being so busy. Get in touch with him if you need to send your ecu somewhere. Then just get a burner and learn.

Calum has a job other than ECU tuning for the sr20-forum/sr20forum guys, he has a life outside of this. He does this to help people out and spread his knowledge and sure make a few dollars on the side. If you dont like his service, go to NIStune, JWT, AEM, etc and deal with them. Not only does JWT charge 100 for a re-tune, but the ecu itself is almost 600 dollars. AEM is over a thousand w/o tune.
