A little JB weld and it will be all right.

actually i went through the same failing cable issue. what was happening is the two bolts under the hood where the clutch cable comes through were coming loose. that caused the whole clutch pedal assembly to flex which ended up in me breaking clutch cables and also breaking the assemble off the top bolt hole. i had to have my buddy weld the piece back in place and i ended up adding some hard rubber washers on the back of the assebly so it would no longer flext no matter how hard i pressed the clutch pedal.
