Hungry Cops? Just Got Pulled Over...
so i'm hanging out at home on saturday afternoon and my friend texts me telling me he was pulled over. we all go to school at Cal Poly Pomona and they don't go home on the weekends like i do he was just sort of fillin me in. later that night another one of my friends gets pulled over in the same general area. both of them just received warnings.

then tonight i'm driving my car (project phoenix) onto campus and i get pulled over as well because some dumbass in front of me in a truck slid around a corner and of course the cop suspects me and says he heard tires squealing. (RA-1's dont even squeal...) anyways i was really cooperative and when he asked me if there was anything that he should know about if he were to pop my hood i said, "well officer this car was the project car for turbo magazine and the car has a jim wolf turbocharger kit but here is the paperwork for the CARB executive order" and hand it to him. no problems he tells me to have a good night. very nice guy to be honest with you, not like many of your experiences with true PIGS.

anyways i've seen things from both sides saying there are and aren't quotas for police officers to meet. but 3 people in 1 weekend? none of us were doing anything wrong. anyone have any idea what could be going on? any other socal people experiencing any of this?

in addition: one of my other friends from college that goes home to irvine every weekend says he was pulled over in newport beach.

is this just bad luck for my friends and i, all who have clean driving records, or is something going on?

It's not called the Dictatorship of California for no reason... You are extremely lucky that he let you off. It could have taken the WRONG cop to suspect you of street racing just by associating squealing tires with those of tires squealing in a street race (even though you weren't), impounded your car and had it crushed... Don't ask me how I know...

I'll tell you anyways... My friend happened to be driving through Cali to see his girlfriend. The roads were wet after a rain shower and he took a corner a little too fast which resulted in squealing tires. Next thing he knew, motorcycle cops were onto him like bees on wax. Accused him of street racing, made up a bunch of excuses as to why they thought he was street racing, impounded his car, provided "proof" of street racing and subsequently had his car crushed. 2005 Celica GTS with only 13K miles on it.

Now, he's suing the city but thats a whole different ball game.

Cheers-

^ Wicked R's story is something that makes me want to move to Arizona.

Steve, I've heard worse. Last week, Teddy got pulled over because of his Hello Kitty keychain serving as a tow hook toy. Then the cop also said that his car is too low. He got away home free, but getting pulled over because of some hello kitty keychain is hanging from the back of his bumper.

I would chalk it up to the police being proactive. You are helping them by spreading the word. The burnout of the truck of the truck (which they thought it was you ) gave them P.C. to pull you over. Or to use the probable cause to pull you over to check you out and see whats going on because they kind of "suspect" your car is illegal in some manner, have arresst warrant , drugs , stolen car etc. I hear there stories all the time for getting a reason to pull over poeple.

Thats pretty fortunate of you. In most cases you'd be bent over the hood taking it from the "man" . Sh*t with all that luck, I would've bought a lotto ticket!

Hey, I want a CARB executive order! can I buy yours?
