Need clutch replaced, any helpers?
I need my car running. I am trying to sell it, but I'd MUCH rather fix it and keep it. After driving the Hyundai around for the last two months, I'm getting really irritated with it. I miss the SE-R and can't afford three cars on my insurance!

I need to replace the clutch and t/o bearing. I have NO effing idea what I am doing, but am going to try to getirdone myself anyways. I have most tools I think I need, but again...I've never done a clutch...ever.

For anyone willing to help I will give them a set of AD22VF brakes, painted red that need to be rebuilt. I have one rebuild kit, you need one more. One caliper is also missing a bolt that you'd need to get.

If you just do the damn thing for me, or the majority of the work, I'll give you the brakes and a set of 12" Rockford Fosgate subs in a box.

If anyone is insterested in helping me out, let me know. I can't afford the $560 quote I've got from a few shops. It'll also have to be on a Sunday.

got a air gun and a 32mm socket? easy way not to make a mess. Jack up the car and unbolt the shifter rods. Then unbolt passenger side axel mount (has 3 bolts holding it to the back of the block). Hit axel nuts with ur air gun and pull them out of the hub. Leave them in the transmission and unplug the spedo. Leave the spedo gear in the trans. Take off clutch cable and take off the bolts around the trans save for the last top 2. Put a jack under the trans and give it a wiggle till it comes off the dowl pins on the motor. Try and lower it down while you keep it on the jack and slide it from under the car with the axels still in. This way you won't spill gear oil all over the place. Take old clutch cover off and disk and install new one. I'm prob missing a few steps like pulling the starter and unplugging the harness near the trans or something. It's really not hard at all just might take sometime. If u pull the axels get ready for gear oil even after you drain the trans before you pulled them out.

I pulled my tranny twice with removing the axles and not draining the gear oil, no spills here. It's a pretty easy procedure, look for anyhting in the way of removing the tranny and take it off. reverse steps when putting it al abck together.

It's not about doing it myself, as much as it is having the time to do it. I work full-time and am taking 5 classes in college. Trying to find time inbetween homework, sleep and eating is getting impossible for me.

I'm shooting for this Thursday after school if it doesn't rain too much since I have the day off. I'm probably just going to go at it anyway. I'm sick of having this car just sit here. I'm even more sick of driving this damn Hyundai.

He meant that he didn't remove the axles. Pretty sure it was a typo.

That's all I can figure out. Otherwise he's got a massive fluid leak.

thats fine but if you pulled your axels and nothing came out its low. or you have a bad leak.

Hmm.. I know I dont have any leaks, now im confused.

And I DID remove my axles...

Edit- If I tilted the transmission to the side a hair it would spill out, but if i kept it level nothing would leak.

Sorry to thread jack..
