My AGXs had 1 as OEM, and 4 as stiffest. This is the front. I have mine at 3 front and 6 rear which turns out to be the same percentage stiffness by their percentage. Honestly their ratings leave a lot to be desired as relation to EOM means nothing with stiffer springs.

I'm putting together an AGX + Hyperco Gen II suspension for a B13, and have some 55mm Koni bumpstops. I live in an inner-city area and drive on rough roads and get surprised by a huge pothole fairly often. Should I cut the bumpstops down to 40mm (so I'm not riding on the bumpstops all of the time) or leave them at 55mm (to better protect the AGXs from blowing out)?

On a related note, is it really noticeable when you hit the Koni bumpstops? I would think that it's reasonably smooth considering they are "soft" and progressive.

I *think* I got the 55 mm Konis from Tire Rack.

I did not cut them at all.

No, it is not that noticable when you hit the bumpstops. It is a smooth transition and according to Dave Coleman, the bumpstop in effect becomes part of the spring. I have "slammed" my vehicle into some serious potholes, and it is a hard muted "thump" when you really test the struts and springs. It is not a harsh "metal on metal" kind of crash, just a deep "thump" of the Koni bumpstops doing their job well.

Ahem....Mike Kojima swears by the Koni bumpstops as the best he has ever utilized or tested. Worth every penny. ....

Because urethane bumps stops are terrible. You don't know how bad they are because:

koni bumpstops
bump again from the grave

I have the 55mm bumpstops. Should I cut them or not? The car will be used as a daily/ autox car. Also I noticed when I slide them over the agx's I have to force them on diameter is smaller then the agx shaft. Do i need to grind them out so they slide freely or what?

I am about to put the Hyperco+AGX on my whip too (93 egg) and need to know the right bumpstop to purchase. Can someone chime in?

40mm. I ran the agx/hyperco combo with those bumpstops like 6 years ago.

I got the 55mm ones like shawn, they just dont want to go over the shaft of the agx's. I have to forece them on. Here is a few pics to show the difference between stock and the 55mm one I have.

I think im going to cut them down to stock height.
