p10 strut ?
I never ask for much help on any site, but i cant get much on g20.net. Is there a write up on how to step by step put new struts on the factory springs? Ive never done it and my wifes 94 g needs it done. I did a search on there and hear to no avail. Please help.

My 93 G20 came with a mini FSM in the trunk. You don't have one?

I'll give you one for the B13 from memory. Should be similar or the same for you.

Jack up rear of car.
Remove back of rear seat to access upper strut bolts.
Remove the three nuts on each side holding the strut hat to the strut tower.
Remove wheels.
Remove brake lines from struts.
Unbolt the bottom of each strut from the wheel knuckle, should be two bolts on each side.
Carefully lower the strut and spring assembly out from under the car.
Compress the springs with a spring compressor.
Unbolt the spring hat from the strut piston with an impact wrench.
Remove spring from old strut and place on new strut.
Assembly is reverse of the above.

^This is about dead on. Just be careful when you are compressing the springs. That's the dangerous part. Make sure those hooks that go on the springs when you are compressing them are on there good. You can rent the kit from advance or auto zone, then get your money back when you rent it.

I did mine without a spring compressor and took a video of it to show what would happen. I'll post it up when I get the chance. =D

I have done tons of springs with no compressor, I aim it away and they barely slide, maybe a couple ft. at the most. I am a rebel though!

^ There is a hole in the wall where my friend did that and it almost hit his friend.

Mine shot the spring hat and wrench a good distance (6 ft. or more). Nothing to worry about if you're careful though.

Harbor Freight has spring compressors for $12.99. I got one use out of mine before the threads were ruined, but I only needed it once.
