i got a question about the alignment...

are the specs diffrent from a 1.6 and 2.0??

like when they do it, dont they print out a sheet on what its suppose to be from factory right???

or is it just all the same and they zero everything out

Hmmm... that is an interesting question. It would make sense that they would be the same, as the alignable (is that a word?) components are the same across both platforms. I'm going for an alignment today (just put in a set of superpro caster bushings), and I will try to remember to ask for you, to see if they have different specs.

How is your rack and pinion and the bushing holding it? My 4door did the same thing with 13" wheels and 17" wheels. My dad told me that it could be the rack and pinion or the bushing that hold the rack to be part of my problem. I replaced both lower ball joints and front struts, but my alignment was still off a bit. I still don't think it should have been as loose like you explained. I know exactly what your talking about.

I have a brand new rack and pinion with brand new tie rod ends, but due to plan changes, I didn't put it on.

EDIT: It's still sitting on the shelf, so the wheel jerk still exist on the 4door. My 93 SE-R does it as well. I know that all the struts are blown on the 93 and I also know that the rack and pinion is super leaky right now. I have to add power steering fluid often. The boots are busted on both ends as well and that does help the fluid leak. I may just use the extra rack I have on the 93 and see if that improves it.

^Shouldn't DC be able to answer that? He digs up a lot of spec stuff as it is. How many miles the rack and pinion / power steering unit has on it? Sounds like it is not holding pressure making it loose. Both my rides do it . The 4 door was worse though.

^Bump

Anybody else have this problem and find a solution? I just changed both of my tie rod ends and my car will still does it. When I drove me 1.6L I replaced both of the lower ball joints and it still did it. I'm getting reading to put ES bushings on the front sway bar and then look into changing the rack and pinion bushings.

^Who has replaced their stock ones with these?

If it is the inside of your tire that is a big sign of improper alignment, usually toe. If you read up on alignment stuff you will notice most of the suspension gurus always say toe eats up the inner edges of the tires faster then camber does. If I remember correctly from my car, when you lower the car you get massive toe-out. Toe-out is very squirrelly on the front and usually causes handling problems. I would highly recommend getting these:
Longacre Toe-In Plates
and doing your own alignments. I did and I have already aligned both my cars and my three buddies cars.

^Interesting. I would like to try one of those out.

Steering Rack Bushing Set (power steering only), Steering Rack Bushing Set (power steering only)

^I'm also thinking that this could have something to do with the steering wheel jumping all over the place. Maybe the bushing are worn out. My bushings have 255K on them. I'm sure they need replacing.

the specs are likely differant. the nx2000 is a "performance" car so the specs are a bit more extreme. just like the differance between an 05 legacy and an 05 legacy GT..........exact same suspension setup but the specs are not the same.

jensen, how are the front control arm bushings? steering rack bushings? and so on. when the car sat for so long when we were doing the sway its possible the bushings had gotten very brittle from not being used and they are now crap.
