New set of Hyperco's - what struts to run?
With the rear AGX's no longer available what would you now run (Front/Rear) with a new set of Hypercos?
AGX's were always the "go to" strut...

KYB in itself sucks. They were fined a few millions of dollars for price gouging on certain performance lines such as the AGX for specialty cars such as the Sentra SE-R.

I had AGXs with Hypercoils and one pothole hit and the springs blew the struts out. You simply cannot place a variable rate spring with a sub-par damper such as an AGX in the conditions I had. Ever since that one hard hit, they never rode the same again.

Hopefully your roads in South Carolina are much better condition than the ones I have up here in the Road Salt capital of the United States. That would greatly impact my decision on whether or not to re-use AGX. At least for the front. The rears seem to be completely fine but the fronts are a different story. Ten plus years of experience with the AGX and Hypercoils and I have had a pretty hefty fill.

There are no other options than KYB Excel G or Monroe. That's just the way it is. Look anywhere and that's all that you'll see for off the shelf struts. And Hyperco springs might be a bit much for any of those struts. The only other option is custom. If you want to spend a bit more I think there's a few fellas on here that will make some CSKs for you. Take a look at Serban's thread on the custom housings that he is offering.

I personally run the Eibach and KYB Excel-G combo. But I am GA16 powered, so that changes things a bit as GA cars are lighter. I actaully had to cut 3/4 of a coil out in the front springs to get it to set level. I have done several track days with curb hopping and autocross events with no problems. I have bee using the same Excel-G for almost 5 years now with no loss of damping or leaks and it is my daily ride.

Only other option is coilovers from Stance or BC Racing. Too bad Progressive doesn't make them anymore.

That's not the "only other option" in coilovers. One of the best deals going right now is the Fortune Auto coilovers as seen in the GROUP BUY section... FYI

Group Buy ends WEDNESDAY so get your last second orders in!!!! This was extended multiple times to bring our small community a slice of GOOD coilovers.

You can call them, listen to English words, press zero for an operator to pick up the phone and speak perfect English. Hooray Fortune Auto for being an American company.

Good luck getting that from Ksport, BC, or any other Asian-based companies.
