Thread: Hypercoil Clunk solution

I have experienced rear suspension clunking with both CSK (Konis) and AGX shocks. The pictures are self explanatory. Not truly a total solution to the Hypercoil spring clunking, but it certainly eliminates 90% of it. Easily done jacking the car up, without even removing the wheels. Pretty inexpensive, also.

I just used heater hose that fits snugly on the spring. Completely douse the inside of the hose in silicone lubricant and spray the spring down in silicone lubricant and slide the hose onto the spring. Works the same.

I used this trick on my LE-R and my previous SE-R and NX. I did this recently on my Z31 and it helped, then I upgraded to poly versions.
