Thread: Multi-Link vs Super Strut

Reason I removed all of your post, while they contained facts, they were also highly subjective, thus I didn't want to fish through the posts and pick and choose parts. Instead I figured its best to move the posts as a whole to a new thread.

That is EXACTLY the point I'm trying to make here. The Multi-link suspension might be excellent on P10's (due to much better overall chassis), but on the P11 it really doesn't seem help much at all due to a much heavier chassis, a horrible beam, and other P11 issues. To the point that it starts becoming a restriction (can't run wider tires, bigger turning radius, inability to gain dynamic camber with stiffer springs).

My point is, DON'T HATE ON THE STRUTS ALONE, like @Kyle is always doing, because it's not only the strut at play here, it's the how the strut is implemented and the whole chassis. B Chassis strut and setups SUCK, and a lot of us hate struts based on that alone. I was there too, to the point that I almost didn't buy my Legacy because it has struts. I'm glad I did buy my Legacy though, it educated me that you can still have a very good handling car with struts. That is the point I'm trying to make here.

Since you keep mentioning Subaru's, maybe you should consider moving to a Subaru forum....

Very adult , this forum is way better then this... It's comments like this this constantly push away newcomers from our forums. It's also mindsets like this that keeps us from progressing and having overall better cars. Nissan didn't want to spend money on suspensions, we all know that due to their direction with rear beams. Subaru and others did spend money on making their suspensions better, we can learn a thing or two from those cars.

It's true, I can't say strut without you ALWAYS talking it down. I know you hate struts, I know why you hate struts, I know you hate beams, I know why you hate beams too, no reason to constantly reiterate the same damn thing. By constantly reiterating why something sucks in threads that try to improve, your not helping the cause, just bringing negativity to the posts.

Once we can stop being so freaking nagative about it, we can finally start learning to embrace it (like Kojima did) and making it all work better for the greater good.



You have to compare apples to oranges sometimes to show that just because one has inferior suspension design (strut instead of multi-link) doesn't mean it will handle like crap. Other important chassis changes can overcome that.

Further more, Civics now have struts up front, they still handle pretty damn good.

You have no idea what I think or how I think of things. You are assuming all of it and that displays the gross amount of ignorance at hand. The past twelve hours displayed a lot to the forum user base.

I will admit, it did get me fired up, because I was trying to keep the other thread to be more informational on Struts, and not have the constant multi-link is better then struts (WE KNOW ALREADY!). I will admit that deleting the posts was not the correction action, once I realized that I moved the removed posts to a new thread which is more subjective then the other thread was supposed to be.

You began an argument and got upset because people other than myself were in on the argument against you, thus you reacted the way you did with raw emotion. That is objectively clear. This time is vastly different because others agreed with me and that seemed to be the part that irked you way more.
