Have a set of these I'd let go, just needs refinishing.

Jet, I appreciate it and I'll keep them in mind, but I think I'm currently leaning towards that Advanti Storm. Assuming I have enough money for wheels with my turbo build.



I also added a few new wheels up there. That flow formed SSR GTV02 is good looking, but I'm disappointed in the 14.8 pound weight. It really doesn't even qualify for "lightweight" consideration because it's just too porky. Not to mention it's a bit pricey.

gram light 57dr 15x8 25 offset 4x100 w 225/45r15 toyo R888, roll fender w/ slight pull. Some of the wheels above do not clear Wilwood/z32 BBK setups, these do.
Typically $320/ wheel online. I used this setup for track/autox/hpde. My street setup is 16x7.5 Kosei K1 w 225/40R16 Falken 512 or DragDR31 16x7 225/40R16 Dunlop SP9000.

I feel like I should not mention them because I want them.

Kosei K2R. They are neat looking, but could be considered heavy dare I say?

13.5 pounds per wheel

The Kosei K1TS are 11.4 pounds per wheel. And K1 TS give you two valve stems which I enjoy.

Even more neat are the 14 x 6 Kosei K1 TS which weigh in at a scantily clad 9.3 pounds per wheel. The only problem with that is finding good rubber. But that is 14 inch and I suppose off topic.

@Kyle they're all up there already my friend. You missed them. In the cast wheels section.

And those K2R's are definitely handsome wheels, plus they are both low pressure cast and shot-peened.

You are correct, I did miss them. I just really, really like those wheels. mwhaha

Same weight and build process as the ever popular K1, it should be every bit as strong.

I really like how the spokes extend all the way to the edge of the rim.

So far....

(8) Forged wheels. Very expensive.

(11) Flow formed wheels. Very affordable to very expensive.

(20) Cast wheels. Very affordable.


I certainly understand very expensive forged wheels and very affordable cast wheels.

What I do not understand is very expensive and very affordable flow formed wheels.:???:

Advan at 500-bucks, Rays at $350, Enkei, SSR, and Weds at $225 or so, and then Advanti, Konig, 6UL, and Tracklite all at less than $159 per wheel. In the case of Konig $112 per wheel to be specific. Same technology, same 500 kg load rating, same or lower weight.

Advan and Rays really just selling their name on their flow formed wheels? Enkei, SSR, and Weds gonna drop in price or can they command a premium on name recognition?

Are aftermarket cast wheels eventually going to go away when Konig is now spitting out a 112-dollar flow formed wheel? In fact, you can get a set of the Konig Dial In, 15X7, flow formed wheels, for $493.00 with free shipping on Ebay. Less than a 100-bucks a piece to your door.

My take.. Depends on use

If you're looking for the last little bit of edge going ftw then u go forged and the lightest wheel u can get unless ur baller as there's better places to spend money. Forged yes if you've got the budget.

If ur dailying then it doesn't really matter

If you're tracking or doing some competition then the enkei SSR 6ul route as its inevitable you will bend or break a rim. The balance between strength weight and cost is what you want. So it doesn't break the bank when u need a replacement.

Just my opinion.

I don't think konig will crush the cast market. There's lots of uneducated or just plain don't care buyers who are after looks and or cost vs performance.
