Thread: B13 k-member removal

Perhaps a solid bushing for the rear point of the lca would help with lateral movement and serve a similar purpose to traction bars.

Whiteline and various other companies make those bushings. Some OEM, some harder durometer than normal and some that give you more positive caster which really helps out the sentra strut-based front end a whole bunch.

Has anyone ever tried to make a completely tubular K-member? Perhaps to save weight or perhaps to run better tubular control arms, traction bars etc?

We just went through replacing or K-Member (and now the newly painted K-Member is the shiniest part of our car too.. haha)

Making a tubular K-member is the last thing we have in mind though. Stock works just fine with the whiteline offset caster bushings thanks.

I imagine a tubular K should weigh less than the stocker no?

Yes I would think so but at what expense? ..and how much weight is really saved? Our weight is already very low (caged race car) and changing something like that would put us into a race class that we are no longer competitive in.
