Rear brake load a sensors
Hey guys,

Looking for info on the rear brake load sensors on the sentra b-chassis, n-chassis or in general even. How functional are they? They have adjustment but no one ever messes with them. What impact do they have and is it really noticeable? The little metal arm is a nuisance to my exhaust.

For a car that will never see rear passengers or a load of luggage are they even required?

I'll get some pics up soon. Bit lazy to remove the wheels and jack up the car right now.

But essentially its a little arm that attaches to the rear lca on one end and to the load sensor on the other end ( the load sensor bolts to the chassis). It works like a little plunger. As the suspension travels it either pushes or pulls on the plunger, which I imagine regulates the brake force sent to the rears. it is on abs and non abs models.

Here you go. The hardline goes into the valve body, from there the out-line goes to the caliper. The little arm you see connects to the inner side of the lower control arm, and the other end to the plunger on the valve body.

The little arm swings freely. My annoyance is from it hitting the exhaust occasionally. I want to remove it.

From what I understand it allows more brake force to be applied to the rears in the event that the car is carrying a heavy load. I see it only on the sr20 equipped models and not on the 1600 varieties.

Is love to eliminate it since my car never sees rear passengers. That would mean changing the fittings on my braided hoses brom banjo to female. Or worse case, that AND sourcing new hardlines from a 1600 sentra donor.

It varies braking force to the rear based on suspension loading.

No USA-spec cars came equipped with those.

So long beeeeeches....

Now I just have to make up some new braided lines from the front and change the fittings on the existing braided lines to match.
