Thread: anyone ever use ebay rotors?

looking to get some F/R stock sized D/S rotor replacements for my b14 but I am not to familiar with difference in brake quality as "a rotor is a rotor" to me. EBAY has some full D/S "zinc" rotor setups for fairly cheap and well within my budget but I wanted to hear from some people who have actually ran ebay rotors and get their thoughts.

-was there a braking difference over stock?
-how long did they last and how did you like them quality wise

any and all information you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

we used exclusively cheap 'ebay' rotors on our former b14 race car FWIW... no complaints.. but then again, we replaced rotors with pads every time we changed them up so our logic was why bother spending more when we replaced them so often anyway...

How did u like the braking? Noticeable difference over stock? I won't be beating the car constantly as I drive it about once or twice a week and rarely get on it so im sure that would help longevity wise. But when i do get on it i wanna make sure i can stop if needed as i tend to only get on it in open road

honestly noticed no difference between the 'cheapo' rotors and $90 brembo (which is why we refused to pay brembo monies and went the cheap ebay route)

The only warning I'll give you is out of probably 6 sets of rotors, 1 rotor ended up warping early in its use (no way to know if we caused it from overheating without proper cooling but it seemed odd to warp with 1 20 minute track session and only on 1 side).. but it didn't deter us from continuing to use them FWIW

Stopping is much more dependent on pad choice and piston size than rotor material (until you get into ceramic or carbon ceramic brake compound for the rotors............which are (literally) several thousands a pop and the sizes start at 14+" if I remeber correctly)

Anyways, what I am saying is, go as cheap as you dear on the rotors and spend the money on proper pads. Ceramics are a good start. However (if you choose to splurge a little), I do recommend most Auto-X compounds as they have phenomenal cold bite (which is about 98% of your driving), so they may be a good start.

Used cross drilled ones for ad22vf calipers for 6 years.just change your pads when you need to and you will be fine.

ebay makes rotors?

Yeah just naught the second pair

i always see cheap drilled rotors crack. if you have to run rotors that are not plane then get slotted but not drilled.

if you can run plane rotors just get autuzone ones.

autozone rotors cost more than the 'made in china' ones sold on ebay and work the same IMHO .. just plain regular rotors (not drilled or slotted)
