Any experience with ES bushings?
I have a 98' 200sx se-r and about 3 weeks ago I had to swap my motor and noticed my motor mounts were cracked and worn out. I also noticed my tie-rod ball joint rubber boots were also cracked and falling apart. I figured if those rubber parts were falling apart, all the other rubber parts on the car are also falling apart. I was thinking about doing a whole bushing replace, ball joint, and any other rubber component. I have been looking at these for bushing replacement:

Does anyone have any experience with any of these products and would you recommend them? This car is currently my daily but in a year or two I plan on getting another and using this as an auto-x car. I am not super concerned about rougher ride as long as it hugs the road as I pull fast maneuvers every now and then.

Definitely replace the ones that are damaged. I don't know if you need the entire kit. I've read that the complete ES bushing kit can squeak a lot. I would definitely use the ES shifter bushings, swaybar bushings, and maybe the motor mount inserts.

Check out the Prothane motor mount inserts. Serban sells them at a good price and it seems like almost everyone uses them.

Prothanes are 10x better than ES inserts for engine mounts. I've had both. They are much more solid and good feeling!

Does anyone know if there is some sort of non petroleum based lubricant, maybe graphite, to lubricate the bushings so they don't squeak as much?

Are you asking if non petroleum lubricants exist? If so, the answer is yes haha

There is a HUGE section on ES bushings in this thread:

With two (2) incredibly bright guys, 98sr20ve and Choaderboy2 discussing the pro's and con's of ES bushings.

Go with the Prothanes for your motor/tranny mounts.

I have the front cont. arm bushings, shifter and the rack bushings in my car '98 SE as well as my Subaru Forester ... Love them ...

I wouldnt do the rears , I have done them on others cars and then removed them , made the car really twitchy .... It all depends on what your looking for and your setup ...

On the motor mounts , you do know you have to replace them before you get the inserts if they are cracked ?? ... I have the Energy inserts in my '98 ... seem to do there job , but from what others have seen the Prothanes may be a better choice ... I guess it all depends on if there is a price difference or not ... The Energys are pretty cheep !!

I use Wurth CU 1100 adhesive Lubricant on all the bushings I have ... seem to be holding up fine and the have never squeaked !!
