Thread: NX1600 and 2000 front hubs, the same?

Just as the title states, are the front hub part numbers the same? As in, brakes all bolt on, etc?

Yes, only difference is ABS or not

I don't think it's the same part number. Remember the brake backing plate is smaller so you'll have to trim or remove it, but everything else should bolt right on..

spindles and hubs themselves are the same BUT the backing plate and brakes are not

Everything will bolt up the same between 1.6 and 2.0 hubs, they do in fact share the same part number.
@NI SER-1 the dust shield is a separate part entirely, there are six different version of it.



Design changed somewhere along the way on the part where the tie rod end goes into on the hub though, giving you either a tighter or wider turning circle.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I trimmed the Backing plates on my SE-R , when I converted to NX2000 front brakes since they looked like they were pressed on to tight to remove and couldn't see how they could be replaced.

I wanted a tighter turning radius but I never knew there was a difference in hubs so I put in an NX 1600 steering rack. It bolted right in and made a huge difference in turning radius. It's one of my favorite mods, but it would have been easier to just swap hubs if I had know this before.

B13, B14, 1.6, 2.0 they are all the same. Only difference between any of them is if it has an abs hole or not.

Interesting, did not know this. Is this just a difference between 1.6 NX and 2.0 NX?

IIRC, the 1991 and 1992 NX2000 have a wider turning circle than the 1993 NX2000 because of the different tie rod attachment point. I remember there was also some discussion of the 1.6 sentra/nx having the "smaller turning circle" design like the 93 NX, however I know I put a knuckle from a 93/94 1.6 sentra on my 1992 NX and it is identical (except for a tiny bit of trimming needed on the dust shield, of course).

So I'm not entirely sure but I would really like a set of the "smaller turning circle" knuckles at some point, depending on how they change the steering ratio on the road.
