Looking for opinions on Spring rates and Road Magnets
I am curious to see how everyone feels about the spring rates on the Road Magnet springs. Too stiff too soft just right etc. Reason being is I plan to order some Fortune Auto coils in the near future and im trying to pick my spring rates. I understand that 7kf/5kr is decently close to RM spring rates but as ive never been in a car with RMs im not sure if thats the route I want to go.so basically just looking to get some information from people who have experience with the RMs to help make my own decision. I am currently thinking either 7k/5k or 8k/6k are strong possibilities but anything is possible lol. (And yes I have looked over a majority of Shawn Bs awesome suspension thread. . Just looking for first hand experience instead of the technical aspects of it)

That would be about what, 390lbs front, 280lbs rear?

I have Road Magnets (325 front 250 rear) coupled with KYB AGX on my B13. I have the shocks set on 2 and 4. The ride is comfortable on smooth roads and long highway trips but harsh if you hit a deep pothole.

It's not the spring rate that makes a difference in ride comfort but where you set the damper stiffness. I know a guy who runs AGX/ Road Magnet set at 3 and 6 on his B13 and it definitely is harsher, but he likes that. It just a matter of personal preference as to what kind of ride you want on the street.

I actually wouldn't mind a stiffer spring rate but I've stiffened my chassis so that does make a difference in acceptable spring rate. I still wouldn't want 8kf(450lbs) 6kf(340lbs) to use on the street.
