Thread: squeaky bushings on progress rear bar

So I put a Progress rear swaybar on my nx a couple months ago.
I used energy suspension grease on the bushings(quite liberally I might add)
Its been silent for a while then starting to squeak,and its driving me mad.
Yesterday I had a friend bounce the car while I got under there to see for sure what is squeaking.
Its the bushings for sure.It still has a bunch of grease spooged out around it still ,so it didnt wash out or anything.

I was wondering what other options there are for this.
I was thinking maybe some sort of teflon grease or maybe even graphite powder to quiet this thing down.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Red or black bushings?

I will have to look I think the bushings are the ones that came with the progress bar.,not ES

There is a silicone lube used for brake stuff,comes in a can,and squirts out like Cheez Wiz.I've used that with pretty good success.The ES lube stuff seems to ooze away from where it's needed.

My car used to squeak like that long time ago when I put ES bushings. It sounded like an old car, lol, bought that ES grease too. For some reason, the noise only went away for a short period. My only solution was to remove most of the bushings. . The car handled great but the noise was anoying, lol! I still have some of that grease left. Jay, try to re-grease them again.

Buy Addco bushings is an option.

I have the addco bar on my P10 and I recently have one on the way for the B13. I have a BNIB Progress rear that has been sitting since last year. I was so pleased with the Addco bar on the G20, I want to try it on the B13 as well. To be more on point, it was silent, made no noises and required no lube. All wins in my opinion. Addco is a US based company, the phone call goes directly to a human being that speaks English and most of the time with that sweet Southern bell tone ever pleasant to the ear.

Wheel bearing grease works well...I'm using one that has graphite mixed in...

I just installed the progress sway a few months ago as well, but mine hasn't squeaked yet ~~knocking on wood~~. However, I hear a slight clunking when going over bumps. I realized it was my lower control arm bushing. It's the bushing where the bolt is. The bolt that you have to remove to install the progress sway bar bracket. I sprayed wd40 in that area and the noise went away, but now there's a different, altered noise where it sounds like the slight clunking, but different tone.

Front or rear progress bar? Did you tighten the end links while the car was at laden weight and ensure the connections were not pre-loaded anymore than they have to be?
