Ebay coilover collars...
Alright, I understand its ebay shit. I remember hearing about it a long time ago from people who had damaged ground control units and bought the ebay kit and used their GC springs. I am looking to test a set of super stiff GC springs out but wanted to see if I can get away with the ebay coilover collars. I can get my desired spring rates. Has anyone here done this recently? Keep in mind this is just a straight line car so I will be looking into a 1200lb rear spring to aid 60' times. Any input from you suspension gurus is appreciated. Thanks!

Just for verification, what do they GC guys run? 7" length and 2.5" ID?

I am not sure i would trust them cheap mounts, even for a drag car. There is still a lot of stress and at 120+ mph do you want to take the chance? They would work for testing but i would swap them out ASAP for something that will not kill you. Used sets come up often enough.

From memory i believe they are 7", but since you are not worried about travel i am not sure it matters that much.

True but I can't imagine how bad they could design the collar that adjusts the height. It would mainly be there to dial in the height I want and that's about it. I can't imagine there being much travel especially in the rear between the weight reduction and high spring rate. Think I will just be patient and try to source some used units.

I tried getting a hold of Progress to rebuild my coilovers but they have some shitty customer service. Had some lady on the phone tell me that I am looking to go too stiff in the rear and its not a good idea and will not work. Then another time tried contacting someone and they forward me to some asshole who never responded.

They're not that bad, it's kinda just like the eBay header vs Hotshot (when they were around) - both will get the job done, just the OBX coating comes off after like two trips.

I had them on my Miata. They worked just fine.
