Need new brake pads/rear rotors for '14 convention track day - suggestions?
Info on the car:
1992 Sentra SE-R
HP/TQ: 210HP, 168 ft-lbs (at wheels - full VE swap w/ almost every bolt on)

Current brake setup:
Front: full NX2000 upgrade w/ x & slotted front rotors
Rear: stock (rotors need to be replaced soon)
Lines: Goodridge stainless steel
Brake Fluid: Genuine Nissan heavy duty
Pads: Old stoptechs that need replacing soon

Other:
Wheels: 15" Rota Slips streams (12.6lbs per wheel)
Tires: Unknown at this time. Will be getting a new set in the spring, something good, 205/50's
Weight of car: 2,000 lbs without driver. No power steering, no A/C, no rear spoiler, no sunroof, all sound deadening tar/carpeting removed, stripped interior except for two front seats, dash, door panels and stereo

Was looking at these pads:

Carbotech XP10 Brake Pads NISSAN NX - in the description of the pads, it says: "Due to the high level of friction and bite, this material is recommended for cars weighing around 2,000lbs or more, not including formula cars and cars with brake bias bars weighing less than 2,000lbs."

The stoptechs I had on the car for the last 2 years are OK but nothing spectacular. I have a feeling I need to upgrade. Pedal feel is good though and the front rotors are in excellent shape (cross drilled & slotted). They're about 18 months old.

The rear rotors ned to be replaced as they are quite thin. Any reason I shouldn't just go with new OEM's? Should I bother with a pair of slotted?

This is my "track car" and it's rarely driven more than once a week except for SCCA events, occasional Honda Hunting' (lol) and of course this years convention.

XP10's are too much for street tires. NL is *very* easy on brakes. You'll be fine with AX6's on the front.

Blair knows, he is the Ohio local and a track-rat.

If you are going to put race car pads on the car, stop driving it on the street because you will either have completely cold brakes or you will lock up street tires. I only say this because I know you take your car out on the streets and race random people on public roads.

I do not like AX6 on a street-car. When you cruise and they fall below operating temp, they will not grip. Or give yourself a much larger braking zone in front of you. On the track, they are flipping wonderful! Since Nelson is very easy on brakes, I want to downgrade to something else. Maybe those EBC greens that everyone seems to hate that I have laying around or go back to Carbotech and just get an easier pad compound (1521 is the lowest they have) and some random cheap rotors.

Really? I liked them on the NX, now that time I had XP8's on the the front of the DD (don't ask.... It was in a pinch and it's all I had as spares). I can tell you those do NOT work in the snow! I'm also on the EBC hate wagon!

Perhaps I need to stop tail-gating people while using AX6 and cruising for hours on end at 70MPH.......

I will install Goodridge lines, Motul 600, new rear rotors and rear pads and possibly just keep it how it is.

Only time I had problems with that was in the wet.

I'm waiting for it to rain a couple times so I can finally get the cars out.
