AF22 vs the stock b13 wheel
I've found two pictures so far documenting the grinding process for getting the af22's to fit under the stock SE-R wheels. They are pretty dramatically different (One mentioning 1/4" of material?!?) For those of you who have done this which way looks closer?

Pretty tame grind.

or the more aggressive.

My grind looks more like the 2nd. I put in brand new Brembo blank rotors and EBC Green stuff pads. I needed ALOT of room under my rims.

check my build thread...i just did it. I didn't give an exact measurement, just bolted them on and grinded until they stopped rubbing. IMHO this works out to be the best way and I did both sides in a couple of hours.

I would post the link but I'm on my treo so please forgive me. The thread is 'Project: Daily' and 'should' be listed in my signature.

Yeah that seems to be the general way to do this, put it on the car and grind till it works. I was hoping to avoid that as neither the brakes or the wheels are on the car at the moment, as it will take longer to set up the brakes than it will take to actually grind them...

You definitely want to grind and test fit. Don't do it before you can assemble the parts. I measured 3 to 5 mm needing to be removed from the calipers. The caliper in the first picture is not going to fit stock wheels using fresh pads.

actually, I couldn't see those pics before, but those are from my build thread . The first pic is what they look like out of the box, with now grind at all, just really smooth from the rebuild process I assume. The second pic is how much had to be ground down to make them fit and is actually the same caliper.

oh wow, you guys are using a hand-held grinder instead of a bench grinder?? yikes..

with exact measurements of how much is being taken off, I would imagine a bench grinder would be quicker..

but I am not a grinding expert by any means.. I am about to do this though..

This is interesting. I'm able to spin a b13 Se-R wheel when over a AD22 caliper. This is on a car with no axles in place though, I wonder if that matters.

How are your pads? With worn pads, the stock wheel fits. With fresh pads, not so much.
