What are your aftermarket sway bar setups for a B13?
I recently got a Progress rear sway bar for my b13. Paired wit oem front sway wit es bushings and a generic front strut bar, and I must say I'm VERY impressed. Made the overall rear stiffer and I can def feel that it's way way more planted in curves. Understeer seems minimal and if I push it hard enuf in a long curve, I can hear the rear tires loosing a bit of traction. Everything else is stock. This gave me the thirst for more grip! I've been deciding whether I should get the Progress fronts or not so I'm curious what sway bars you guys are running that track and auto x that also a daily driver. And what your settings are. And most importantly, what kinda feedback do you guys get from these settings and what you like about them.
Digging up bunch of old articles and threads, I read that for street, some suggested to keep the oem front since a bigger bar will bring more understeer back. I also came across some of mike kojimas conversations where he mentioned Dave Coleman likes the progress sway bar setup such that the rears at full hard and fronts full soft.
Sorry if this is a repost. If it is, can you guys provide some links where I can read more on this topic? I've already gone thru the suspension manifesto thread

Im fully strapped, meaning fornt and rear sways, front and rear towers, must bushings, and coilovers. I cannot attest to the understeer theory because the front sway was the first suspension mod I made but, I can say the car is overall responsive as hell. I would autoX it if my turbo wasn't so big. Overall the car is significantly stiffer than it began and often find myself on three wheels in certain situations.

I'll eventually be fully strapped..lol. If u did ur front sways first, then ud experience lots of understeer! What brand bars did u get, including strut towers...

i have a jdm pulsar gtir, basically similar suspension design setup.
front stock bar
rear whiteline adjustable bar set at middle setting
whiteline anti lift kit, pineapples, front lower control poly bush
bc racing coils 7kg 6kg ( front damping 28 clicks, rear damping 24 clicks)
front camber plate set at max camber
crash bolts up front for 2.5 deg camber
rear 1 deg camber
0 toe
cusco front and rear upper strut bars

i autox regularly with it and can generally be in the top 10 for raw time in my region. pax is another story
i get inside rear tire lift usually, i have a torsen lsd up front , stock centre viscous, and rear nismo 2 way clutch diff on 15x7 205/50 re11's

nickr: Do you have any build thread? That setup especially about diffs sounds very good!

Btw. im going with softest front N15 sway bar and rear Whiteline adjustable sway bar. Car is N14 GTI (FWD). I hope to reduce as much understeer as possible and got more neutral feeling.

Progress bars are just a bit larger therefore more stiff and connect via heim joints and change the mounting location all of which are upgrades over other, similar bars that retain the OEM mounting points.

Right now, my settings r soft for the progress rear sway. Even at the softest I did notice the rear more stiff and took away the understeer. I got pretty used to the setting now so I will adjust it to the middle and then later full hard. I'm assuming as I go more hard, I will get more oversteer in which that's when a bigger front sway will help neutralize the 2 bigger bars creating an overall much stiffer car and perhaps spring rates? I say spring rates cuz I did read it once somewhere and I do feel that it made my shock/springs more stiff. Not sure about the actual term tho.

Lots of people use different theories to tune cars but you are on the right track, @udunnome

Increase rear roll stiffness will mute understeer.

Increase front roll stiffness will mute oversteer.

Do you think Progress bar is better option? I have already Whiteline ordered via Gspec. I shoul try Progress later if Whiteline doesnt suit me.
