Another off the shelf rear brake upgrade.
Ok I only suggest doing this upgrade if you have SpecV brembo fronts, or equivalent. Brembo fronts are about 12", our max\g20 upgrade is 10", and if you want the 11" rear rotors that went with the brembo package SpecVs you'll need to rob parts from yet another Maxima, I30-35, or B15.

I posted some wanted ads over on B15U.com and B15sentra.net with no luck. They said there was no bigger rear setup, and rear calipers are the same. For the most part, but some knew of what I was talking about. After a little more research I found out that 2001 I30, 2002-04 I35, 2001-03 Maxima, and 2004-06 B15 all share the same rear caliper brackets. These brackets are taller to fit the 11" rotors, and I got my set from an 02 max. I did see some 01 max, and I30s that did look the same. The B15s have to be a SpecV with the brembo package for them to work.

One problem is that the rotors I ordered for a specv are 4*114.3, but I already have g20 rear hubs. So, if any of you still have 4*100 then you'll have to redrill a pair to make this work. I needed a new caliper for my right rear, so I figured I'd buy the calipers and brackets. Turns out that the 02 max calipers mount in the opposite direction that ours do, so The ebrake bracket is facing the wrong way. I did find out that the 1997 maxima calipers I have now will fit these brackets. The 95-99, and 01-03 maxima calipers/brackets share many similarities. The pads are slightly different in that they dont have the little pieces of metal that stick up on the ends like the older ones do. You can swap out the caliper bracket stainless clips for your older ones to the new bracket to reuse your old pads. I didn't find this out until after I ground mine down.

If you have a B15, P10/11 this should be a true bolt on affair, and if you have a B13/14 it doesn't require much more work. So to summarize if you already upgraded to max/p10 rears you just need;

-01 I30, 02-04 I35, 01-03 Maxima, or 04-06 B15(with brembo fronts) rear caliper brackets
-04-06 B15 rear 278mm rotors(with brembo fronts)(redrill if you are 4x100)
-reuse old caliper bracket clips and pads.(if you dont have the old max/p10 upgrade already just skip this and buy pads for an 02 maxima)

This is great info. Any off the shelf upgrade means we can keep our cars running stronger and longer without being dependant on a private company that may go out of business or just stop making parts for our model. I also like the fact you can be traveling cross country and if something breaks pull into any parts store or dealership for a fix.

I have some G20 rear hubs I was thinking about installing on my B13, but had read there was some sort of problems with a spacer. Did you run into any issues installing G20 rear hubs?

The g20 hub is a little different than the b13. I'm using mine without the washer, and havent had any problems yet in over a year. It sticks out about 3/16" farther so I had to shim the caliper bracket with some stainless steel washers to get it centered over the rotor. I've been running mine like that for a while now, but it would honestly be better to redrill the b13 hub to 4x114.3 to make everything fit true. Now that I mention it I have a set of b13 hubs and g20 rotors that I can test it out on. I've never redrilled anything like that before but It's worth a try.

I thought the whole rear spindle was supposed to be used from the G20...?

Nope, when I went to the junk yard to get g20 hubs the whole spindles were so cheap that I bought the pair. I tried to get them to work, but everything wouldn't line up right, so I just used the hubs.

I did this upgrade on my P11 and it sure does make hard braking with front brembos seem more even. You can also get the carriers from parts store. All the junkyard ones i kept trying to pull were rusted like a mofo. New ones costed like 12 bucks and spec v brembo rear rotors were around 45 each....so around 120 bucks for me to do the upgrade. Pure bolt on.

Well its always hit or miss on good parts from the junk yard. I got centric rotors from rock auto for about $41 shipped.I agree braking feels much more balanced.
