...

Bottom line of what I am asking.

Do you suppose the presence of the front bar tying the two front frame rails together has any negative effects on the B14s handling? I ask as it stiffens the front end, which the basic premise of this thread.

Have a photo of the bar? It could be or it could be to reduce NVH and make the car more comfy for the USDM.

I'll try to find a pic of it after work as they block all pictures for some reason. I initially thought that or just for the crash protection but once I read the handling threads awhile ago I started wondering if it had some negative side effects. It supports the bumper cover and bolts to big inserts that bolt into the frame rails. When I did my N15 conversion I had to take the "box inserts" for lack of a better term for the N15 ones that are shorter and lack the provisions to mount the bar. Ill post some pics when I get off but in my build thread you can see the different rail inserts. As for the bar itself I found this on courtesyparts.com [62022] REINFORCE-FRONT BUMPER CENTER,INNER Let me know what you think.

Bumper bar
Here you can see the B14's beefy bumper bar that boxes the frame rails. This was the best pic I could find of it installed.

Here it is off the car.

Here is what effectively is an N15 front end.

No bar and the support or "Bumper Stay" in Nissan Speak is different.

The B14 has a flat surface at the front and two bolts each to mount the bar.

So what do you guys think? I don't have this bar anymore with the N15 conversion but I do run an ST bar up front. I think with this off the front is "unboxed" and handles a bit better. Like I said though I really don't have a good comparison as when I had my B14 front on originally I didn't know how to drive that well.

I will have a Progress bar on soon and Ill share my observations.

Can anyone explain why i experienced such a dramatic difference on my setup
Street dayli driven worn rack&pin bush ,Oem b14 25mm swaybay up front kyb adj/grey springs not sure what company= alot of killer wheel hop on 2nd 3rd gears ,boosted
Yesterday's i tighten up abit with new ES rack&pin bush and removed sway bar = and no more wheel hop WTF? Purpose of removing the stock 25mm its because i was gonna switch to nx 28mm which will be installed with ES bush as well , Not really wanna do it now since i feel way better, steering feel really nice , I wasn't expecting such a positive change , so i just want to know why or how removing sway bar does to eliminate wheel hop , curious

I've now been without my front sway bar for almost a year! It's staying off

I don't track or autox my car or drag it at the strip anymore really. Just street driving. Ebay lowering springs and stock struts and a rear strut bar.

Its very loose entering the turn but way better in mid turn and exit. I love it! Its like having it handle great in 2/3rds of the turn compared to 1/3rd of the turn, which had great entry and horrible mid and exit.

Be careful removing the bushing attached to the lower control arms, they snap easily! I know
