Squealing and I'm losing my mind.
I have had it up to HERE with this stupid sentra.

I've replaced all 4 struts, rotors, brakes, one rear caliper, end links, swaybar bushings, tie rods, ball joints, and bearings, all within the past week and a bit.

Now, here's where the bearings have been tricky, and I need some advice.

The bearings are sealed units. I got both hubs into the bearings, and there is no play in the bearings, HOWEVER, the one bearing separated when I was pressing the hub in (dont ask)' but not all the way, just a half inch or so. I pressed it all together properly once I saw the separation, and nothing fell on the ground or got dirty at all.

Buttoned it all up and took it for the 'bedding' the brakes process.

I'm getting the squealing sounds from the front. The squealing comes at any speed, is sometimes variable, sometimes not, but under 10kph it is very noticeable. Doesn't make a difference if I'm braking or not, the sound remains the same. I jacked up the car and turned the wheel in neutral, and there's no sound coming from the wheel, no matter how quick I try to turn it by hand.

thoughts?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it a brake type squeal ?

Does it make it when you are turning?

Going backwards?

What brake pads did you use?

Did you replace the brake hardware?

Could a dust shield be hitting a rotor?

dust shield is bent back, no issues. New brakes - not sure what brand, probably beck/arney shit, but wouldn't expect it to be this loud. Doesn't make sound going backwards, sound is the same turning, 10kph to stop, brake or not. Didn't replace the clips but the brake pads and rotors are new. Going to grease the pins and someone suggested the spring/retainer clip is dragging on the rotor, going to check that too. Will report back.

Edit: After reading your post (and not just the replies) I'm not sure brakes are even the issue right now.

Vibration between the brake pad backing and the piston causes most normal operation squeal. Backing plates on the pads help, but greasing that surface is the real solution, backing plate or no.

Does the sound change when the brakes are applied? If it changes with pressure then it's brake related. If not then look else where.

What brake pad material ? Ceramic, Semi-Metalic, Etc ???

What Brand - Centric, Napa. Etc ???

Is it a brake noise, suspension noise or drive train noise ???

Thanks everyone for the help - Here's the update:

Alright, sure enough, took the spring clips off, pads, pins, regreased, tacked back together, squealing sound is gone. Still getting a thump thump thump from the passenger side tire. Balanced all 4 tires, changed them in various configurations, and still getting the thump thump. Everything's brand new behind that wheel now (including the cv axel now). Any help on this would be appreciated - once this is fixed, the car is going to be mint, till then I consider it a rolling piece of shit.

I'm about to drive this thing off a cliff, if I hadn't spent all this money on parts, I woulda done it a week ago.

Did the axle include a new center bearing?
