Thread: Custom Shortened Koni Service

So I am thinking of starting to make these and I would like to see the interest in them. They would be with the B15 Koni Yellow 8610-1409SPORT and the housing would be powder coated (which you could also choose your color to an extent). I am thinking of a couple of ways of doing this. You send your old struts to me and I modify them (this would be easiest for me) or getting cores and having you pay the core charge off the bat and if you don't send your cores to me I'll just keep the charge.

As far as pricing. I'm thinking $450 for your own housings and a $40 Core charge if i go the other way.

For the $450 you get:
Shortened Koni Yellows installed into powder coated housings. This would be just for springs setups right now also. I'd have to look into the coilover setup and what would be needed.

yeah, there are a lot of options here; coilovers, stock perch, shortening amount, etc

Be careful with cores, there are huge variances in stock strut housings. I pick mine up from the junkyard, you can use them from any b13/14, but there are things to look for, such as how high/low the bottom of the housing is in relation to the bolt holes.

No that price includes them.

So I have a pair of max housings I can use, send you those and u can do the install and all and send back. For 450 per pair?

Maxima housing would be too big for the koni he's offering. With the maxima housing you would need to run 8610 or 8611 race inserts and not the sport.

What Keo is trying to say is baller upgrade for your car vs neat upgrade for your car.

Can't I use max koni's? As coilovers?

^^ Yeah but last i check they were discontinued and if not they run as much as the 8610.
