Replacing SRL with Panhard bar
Has any relapced the SRL with a panhard bar? I know this does not correct the geometry, but it atleast removes the sloppyness of the bushings.
As most of you may already know, I am running some stiff springs in the rear(600lbs) but would like to eleminate some slop from the rubber bushings.

So my idea is to just replace the scotts link with a panhard bar.

Just thinking why no one has tried this before other than installing 2j's kit? For auto-x, I am sure just replacing the bushings with heim joints would make a nice difference just like when you change the soft axle mount with the poly bushings.

@Old guy Has done it.

All beams should have it done but what do I know?

Kyle, I don't think you understand what he's proposing. He wants to use the existing SRL pickup points for the panhard.

2J doesn't have a kit.

You're sure?

Would this work? It wouldnt be adjustable but other than that what would the benefits be?

So what "slop" are you referring to?? How is the vehicle reacting to this "slop" you speak of?? What are you trying to accomplish?

Understanding this will open up a few avenues as opposed to what you are thinking.

And heim joints (depending on location) can be very much detrimental to how the suspension works.

Hank is correct, I misunderstood the first go around. I don't see the benefits if you are utilizing the both stock SRL locations.

A video is worth a 10,000 words...here's three:

Now imagine eliminating the slide part in the first video and combining it with all of the range of motion in the other two. The panhard is going to be too short and at too steep an angle to not bind like a mofo.

^^ LOL! Hammering Hank, I actually posted about binding then removed it

Here's my (removed) post

"Also, an easier way to tune in rotation (if this is the ultimate goal as opposed to slop) is to raise the car up which will remove some of the "bind" associated with such a low drop as well as placing the LCAs of the front at a more proper location, and run different width (and offset, effectively changing the track width) tires Front/Rear (this is outside of any other suspension changes)"

I still would like an answer to my previous questions to know his goal

by slop i mean the amount of play within the bushings. I am looking at it to eliminate the rubber bushings, not realy to get a better roll centre or anything.
