Rear Sway Bar + Shocks/Struts...So what's next?
Hey,

I currently have the following suspension upgrades:

ES Bushings
RM Springs + KYB AGX Struts
Whiteline Rear Sway Bar
Kumho Ecsta XS Tires

What would you guys recommend as the next suspension upgrade? I was kind of thinking rear strut tower brace to help strengthen the rear some more, but didn't know if that'd be the best route.

For your B14?

Replace the rear trailing arm bushings.
Get a Octotat (Bolt-In-Bars) rear shock tower brace.

Not much else to do to fight physics besides stiffen up the rear as much as you can.

Next upgrade might depend on how the car behaves afterward and what you expect out of it.

So it seems the key to a b14 in the turns is get the back of the car as stiff as possible.

I've yet to replace the rear trailing arm bushings so I'll have to put that on the list.

Thanks for the suggestions!

If you have interest in a rear tower bar, give me a yell the next time you come back to IL. The guys I help wrench have a Active Tuning bar available - no shipping would make it cheap for you.

For the slight money involved, the rear upper bar is OK.....I would consider it a supplemental piece not a game changer.

Does anyone in KC have the ability to bend the beams on B14s?

The rear trailing arm bushings improve handling a lot more than you expect. Great investment.

Truly, the key would be to stop fighting physics (and make physics work for you) and bend the beam out of factory toe specs. On the B14, Nissan gave it a horrendous amount of factory toe-in which causes snow-plow like tendencies.

Besides exercising the futility of fighting physics, yes, stiffening the rear as much as possible is a good plan of attack.

Hey Josh! hmm, interesting offer! Also, no one in KC who bends beams. Supposedly there's only a handful of people around the US that does that.

I was reading that ES bushings for the RTAB are not really recommended?? Supposedly it can bind the suspension? Should I use stock bushings or ES ones? Maybe that advice is only for the b13?

Wherever you read that, that does not apply to the beam. Of all things, the binding would happen in the SRL (the part that connect the beam to the chassis in the center).
