i dont mind the squeal you get with racing pads so I daily on carbotech XP10 - I love them

It is fun to watch that random dog, with his head out the window, cock his head as if to say, "wtf dude, you just shattered my eardrum" ...:nightmare:

Everything else is purchased at this point,just need front pads........I am still on the fence between Carbotech AX-6 and XP8.

I bought some AX-6 fronts for my stock B13.

If you have grippy tires, get XP8 or 10

I'd get XP10 (thats just me though, now that I know how good they are)

b/c I noticed last time i was at CMP that with the Federal RSR 959 (140 treadwear) tires I had I was able to engine brake way more than than my brakepads (at the time - Carbotech 1521 compound) could do. So I put on my XP10 pads and I was hooked. I will even use them on the street from now on. But I do have another set of 1521 compound that I havent used yet.

IMO you wont be pushing your car hard enough to upgrade the rears. Just make sure you have enough pad. We'll assume you upgraded to the NX MC so you'll be good with brake bias.

Jay, I'm late to the party.

I went to Savannah with a good working stock SE-R brake system. Carbotech Bobcat fronts, stock rear pads, drove it to and from Savannah. Fuzion ZR1 tires. Never had an issue.

In Ohio, I had upgraded to NX fronts, P10 rears, Alti MC, SS lines, whatever "fancy" front dual-purpose pads that Greg V recommended (same as on his Classic) and stock rear pads. Dunlop Star Spec tires. Never had an issue.

I did zero pre-track inspections or changes of any sort.

Had a blast, drove as fast as my very limited skills allow.


Relax. Make sure you have good dual-purpose front pads and a properly working system.
