i use the fastbrakes wilwood 11" kit and i source my prelude srv rotors from here then redrill on my own. i'm a big fan of the bp20 compound for daily use, and hawk hp+ for autox, but i don't have hpde experience
i own a jdm pulsar gti-r so im slighty heavier than you b13 guys

To me, 100 per rotor for a stock piece IS expensive (IF it were the price)........BUT that is MY opinion

I'm a bit late to this thread. Track days are a lot of fun. What I used to do was change my pads and tires at the track. I did use porterfield r4 and at the time I used kumo v700(shaved)which I used to auto x with as well. As already mentioned bring extra fluids, Chair, don't have to but if you can bring something to get you around like a scooter or bicycle....comes in handy. As a noob you may tend to over drive the car which may lead to higher temps on front tires, If they get real greasy take a cool down lap.
I now have use the regular stock calipers and use raybestos st43. I also run brake ducts to the rotors which helps a lot.
You already have a lot of great info here, I figured I'd share what I do. Have fun.

I am getting close to pulling the trigger here.
As I look at the pads,I like the carbotech except the price.But it does semm like my best choice.The non corrosive dust is a nice thing since my track wheels are pretty nice still.The also seem to be OK on rotors from reviews.
The more I look at the temp specs,etc,it seems like stepping up to the x8 might be worth the 20 bucks more.150-70 whats the difference at this point?? LOL
The AX6 is 50-1100 F
The x8 is 200-1350 F
Carbotech says both pads can be autocrossed,and driven to the track,and it seems like the AX6 are borderline for a track for anything other than beginners or cars over 3000lbs...which got me looking at the X8

Its cool to have some guys that have actual track/racing experience to get some opinions from.

I have pretty much decided to go with NEW cheap Advance auto rotors (wearever brand),as well as Wearever Silver semi metallic rears.
After alot of searching around ,and using some discount codes,and whatnot,I have found a great deal,as far as I can tell.
I can get all 4 rotors and the pads shipped to my door for 109.00,so that will free up some funds for expensive front pads and Motul600.

@eggman, do not look at heat ceiling and focus more on the pad compound and initial bite vs temperature characteristics. Most autox pads make great street pads as they have huge initial bite with low temperature and a fairly wide range of operational window. So if you are looking at auto-x pads, street braking will be improved.

Autocross will not introduce anything close to what the max temp on the pads you mentioned (in addition to most) is (especially with the low speeds and low grip outside of hoosiers or slicks).

Compound makes all the difference when it comes to brakes, relatively speaking and for simplicity sake since you are not worried about brake balance, brake wear, temperature control, etc

Now, when it comes to the track, as mentioned before, if you are a beginner or just simply not seeing massive amounts of speed/grip (which accounts for about 80-90% of the people on here), auto-x pads with good brake fluid will do just fine at the track

Now, I am not going to recommend a pad or anything at this point, but a word of advice is don't overthink (or overspend) things. Most manufacturers make it pretty easy for you by giving you raw data, then you can take that, do a quick search on google to see a few reviews, look up what car and it's use and narrow down the idea and selection process based or your gathered info. You will be loads better off in the end

If all else fails, just ring them up. I have had good luck with the guys at fastbrakes, tirerack and radial tire

Whats your thoughts on the rears.?

Rears I keep as stock as they come with the addition of ceramic pads. Rear has no weight and does minimal work, so anything above stock is a waste for 95% of the people's setup on here. I also have a set of stainless lines on there as well to aid in "feel"
