Eggman -

I would recommend Carbotech AX6 for your situation. You can drive these to the convention and home again. They will give you solid performance on the track as well. You can bed them on the street. This is for your front brakes, with NX2000 calipers. These pads would be marginal for track use with stock SE-R front calipers. For the rear, just make sure that you have plenty of pad thickness and you will be good. I find them OK for autocross use, but sometimes you have to be aware that they heat up and get a little more bite toward the end of the course.

Don't even think about EBC Greenstuff. They are nice on the street, but you will melt them on the track. I know this from personal experience.

When switching pad materials (like from stock to Carbotech) make sure to get your rotors turned to remove all residue of the old pad material. This will promote proper bedding of the new pads.

For brake fluid, I like the Valvoline fluid for the street, but want a higher boiling point for the track. I've had great luck with the Motul 660F/600F, as recommended by Boostlee, but lately have been using ATE Superblue Racing Fluid with good results -- and it costs a lot less than the Motul. You can get it from Tire Rack, and they also have an amber fluid with the same specs so you can use the color to tell when you have adequately flushed out the old fluid.

Whatever fluid you use, make sure to bleed your brakes and get fresh fluid into all the calipers before you go on the track (or leave for the convention). Any water in the fluid will lower the boiling point and encourage fading.

Ive used Hawk HP+ on few cars including mine. Worked really well both on street and maximum race conditions.

EBC are all terrible imo... only Yellow stuff are worth a try. Id like to try Carbotech, as a lot of people talk about them.

i've got big wraps on Project Mu's. they do a few pads for ad22vf's, under gti-r listings. Ns's, B-spec's, Hc+'s ,club racer rc09's. part number F216. Ranges from 0 to 800 degrees C. not cheap, but shit they stop. a few of our race/circuit guys use these. i've got ns's on my daily, they do the stopping great.

Thanks everyone.
My budget is running out fast, but I dont want to skimp too much on something like brakes.
I wanted to get all new rotors and pads all around.
But after looking at these prices,I gotta scale it back.

If I just resurface my rotors and use Carbotech AX6 up front, can I get away with cheap pads in the rear?
I may do the ATE fluid, but I am wondering if I really need that at my skill level or not.

I used Hawk Blues on the track and they seemed to work pretty good. Not bad on the street either, but I wouldn't recommend it only because they are VERY harsh on rotors. At night time you can see how much sparks they throw off the rotor. It's like 4th of July.

Pretty much like this:

I'm surprised nobody remembers the excellent service i had from the Porterfield R4S pads at last year's convention. @Kyle On AD18s no less.

Hmmm, I've never heard of Porterfield. And at half the price of Carbotech's, they will be worth trying.

That was in the rain ,on a brake friendly course.lol
But you are a better driver than me for sure so I appreciate your input.
I am considering the R4S,since they are cheaper than the AX-6

Anyone else tracked these,or had any experience??
They say they are a street pad,but good for autocross, driving schools and rallies...and at 75 a set its half the price of the AX-6.
