I dunno I have hopes in it after I get rid of the silly soft bushings.

Agreed, problem with our beams is not the camber, but toe. Most B14s come with approximately -1.5 deg of toe causing under-steer. The idea is to bend the beam to have 0 deg of toe, or if you want a more aggressive car, +0.5 deg of toe. This will allow the back end to follow the front wheels easier, or slide around. Personally, I wouldn't even bother with the camber adjustments, unless you are going to do some serious tracking.

In talking with Joe at 2J, I think he bends the beam with heat from a torch. Steve's work was all done cold. Joe does his work on an alignment rack, so he can set it exactly as he (you) want. Steve's work was done on a garage floor with toe plates and years of experience regarding how much to overbend for the proper springback. Bending the beam cold generates a small amount of negative camber because the beam axis is not horizontal from front to back.
Bending the beam to zero toe makes a different car out of the B14. (much better) I would not drive one without this mod, even on the street.
Switching to a panhard bar makes a different car again. (much, much better) There are some trade-offs, so it might not be for everyone. Right now, I have bad AGX's that need to be replaced. I think that progressive springs (Hyperco) may allow too much initial deflection so I may need to change them to RM's. As the car rolls in a corner or with bumps, the body moves laterallly as it pivots around the end of the panhard bar attached to the axle. I think I calculated a 1" deflection produces about 3/16" lateral motion.
I'll be at the convention, so you can check out my set-up.
I think we should offer Joe a free track day if he brings his VQ B15 to run and does some instructing.

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, my beam has 2 coats of truck bed liner on it. Should make for some interesting smoke.

Hank & Pat - Are you guys getting the negative camber as well? Or just the toe correction? I'm contemplating getting the panhard rod. Would the panhard be worth it?

I wasn't planning on putting negative camber in it. If Joe thinks it's needed, I might though.

I'm honestly a little nervious about the panhard on the street. It just seems like under extreme travel, ie. what you'd see on the street, it would bind. I could be wrong.

Hmmmm... interesting. I was debating if I should get the negative camber as well. My car is my daily driver and I don't want to affect its drivability. However, it sounds like if you get negative camber + 0 toe, it will cost $370. Or else, if you get just the 0 toe, it will cost $350. I feel like it would be better "value for money" to get the panhard and 0 toe for $770. If I did that though, I would have to bring my car in on Tuesday or get it done AFTER AMP. Plus, its a lot of money. I just want to get my suspension done and done right while in Atlanta. I guess I'll give Joe a call again and talk to him about it.

Just do the beam at 0 toe, and leave the camber alone. For DD use, the amount of camber in the rear is perfect for the amount you can get out of the front. Unless it's a dedicated track car, more camber is not needed.

That's my thoughts, as well. At some point, the phase "silk purse out of a pig's ear" comes to mind.

For you guys who are planning to have beam work done at 2J, your rear sway bars will need to be removed. If Joe does it, he probably will charge a little extra.
