Nate, you may be onto something with how much I am tightening these down...........I initially had issues with getting the upper shock nut tightened as it continuously became loose after 100 miles or so and I could never tighten it (or may be user error as far as tightening is concerned)

Not on a rod like that, but lots of fasteners after.... explosions.

Measure the OD of the threads at different points along the length of the threads.

Also that top nut... Single non-locking?

May want to switch to 2 thinner jam nuts. Snug the lower down to get the the assembly compressed properly then tighten more between the 2 so they don't loosen.

I'll try to measure up when I get a chance and source a few more jam nuts in the meantime. I think you may be on to something

Why didn't they give you an internal nylon locker nut?? So weird.

They were not bought new Kyle. So in essence it is my fault for NOT finding the right nut and thinking whatever nut would work.........

Just gotta do a bit of leg work. The setup was bought "used" as it is being used as a development set for my own personal use. The front end is getting all new brand new hardware, don't you worry .

I would never have guessed that.....

Safe to say overtorqued early on and then tensile elongation then that just got worse over time.

Are those Tein housings?
