BC racing coilover spring rates
I have a chance to pickup a set of new BC racing coilovers locally for a good price. They let you pick your front & rear spring rates.
What rates would you guys recommend? Car is 99% street driven, might do some autoX but street is the priority

will be dropped 1-1.5" like the hyperco/agx setup I have now

thanks

So you are buying BC's with custom spring rates? Otherwise their off the shelf configuration is 8k front 6k rear.

Are you dealing with metric or imperial spring rates? ideally for the street, you'll want a rate around the hypercos, ~300lbs/in front and ~200lbs/in rear.

8/6 are great spring rates for a Honda; but their suspension works differently from ours, and the ride would be pretty punishing.

6/4 would be pretty close to road magnets.

Sentras need a stiffer spring rate to maintain correct geometry (if all the other band-aids are correctly installed) to make the Sentra a great handler.

For your street work, do whatever you want, I guess your primary focus would be comfort?

yeah the guy im getting them from said I can pick whatever rates I want, maybe ill go with the 6k/4k
I dont mind it being a little stiffer than the hyperco's. Comfort is important but not the end all concern, im running prothane motor mounts so the car is already a little harsh

From what I remember bc valves the shocks for the spring rates when you order them like that, so you could got with a higher spring rate and still be comfortable. I know 2j racing offers that when you buys bc's from them, I plan on getting 10k/ 8k for my car. Thats not for a daily though, but I have read of people doing 8k all around on b15s and they say they ride pretty well.

6/4 for a daily is great. 8/6 if your roads are perfect.
