I see this all the time on trucks when a front axle u-joint goes bad. I dont see why a bad CV joint wouldnt cause the same issue.

I would never let them put my car on that lift.
Yikes.
The pinchwelds are only reinforced in 2 spots on each side for jacking.

I am sure thats not what caused the problem,but just saying.

Sounds like the thrust bearing on top o the struts, or the steering rack bushings. The one on the passenger side goes bad a lot on our cars.

Agreed could also be this, being it happened after the car was on a lift. The suspension was at full droop if those bearing plates were ready to go it would definately make sense.

the axles seem good, its not a click click click when i turn, just one or two clunks. i know what bad axles sound like.

as for the steering rack i wasn't able to make it move by hand nor with having wife turn the wheel, the bushings look ok as well.

i will be going over everything real soon again, if i find out the issue i'll update this thread.
