Stick with the power steering. I dont think the gains will be worth getting swoll because your fighting the steering wheel every time you go to park.

You won't really see much power gain. If anything 0.5hp-2hp at the most and maybe some improved throttle response due to less drag on the motor. Some people who track/autocross their cars prefer no powersteering since it provides a more "raw" feel, however we all have our preferences. Lotus Elise's came without powersteering from the factory and not a lot of guy's complain about it. Personally, I would keep powersteering.

Interesting. Seems there are 3 ways to do this conversion.

Manual rack
Gut the PS rack and fill it with grease
Cut off the high pressure line and loop it into the low pressure line at the rack.

Any thoughts on which one will turn easiest?

i would say the manual rack would turn easiest as thats what its designed to be for. I personally looped my lines on the rack and it seems to work alright but there is a slight bit of play it seems. Might be the old rack or just play that is normally taken up by fluid pressure. No telling.

Im going to be switching mine out for a manual rack anyways.

manual rack is not that bad

in fact you just get used to it after 2 or 3 weeks

So perhaps I should loop my lines and see how I like it. If I don't like it I keep powersteering. If I like it I can get the sentra e rack.

Anything I need to know looping the lines? How did u doit Ashton?

I had all.three setups the manual rack is.the best IMO. one thing I hated about deleting the powersteering pump is that the bump steer issues became a lot more worse with the power rack..I always recommend the sentra e rack..I have an 96ek with a Manuel rack aswell ..and the "e"rack feels better then that...

I did the pas delete. It was ok but i missed it on tight turns. It was reinstalled and it now feels much better.

The key to a manual rack is doing work when the wheels are moving. If the car is is sitting still turning the wheel is annoying but once you get it rolling even a little it helps a lot.

Manual rack feels awesome at speed.
