Powersteering vs manual
Hey guys

Thinking of converting to a manual rack on the b13 since I don't daily it. But it's been a decade since I drove anything without powersteering.

Just how uncomfortable is the steering on a manual rack b13?

Its not really that bad at all. Our cars are pretty light so you really dont struggle that much at all.

My s2k had no p/s from the factory and you couldn't tell the difference from the b13. But I somehow doubt the sentra will feel similar.

Now, more importantly, are there any power gains by doing this. I just hate the clutter to be honest.

Didnt know the s2k's came with a no power steering option. They use an electric power steering factory so there is no lines, pump, or any of that stuff. Its just an electric motor on the rack and its controlled by its own steering module.

I deleted mine because I wanted less clutter. I wouldn't suggest it if your going to autocross the car since fast tight turns could be a problem.

I'm glad I did it on mine.

Did you gain any whp at all?

And what did you do manual rack or gut the ps rack? I read that the gutted ps rack would turn easier than a manual rack?

He went manual rack and sold one to me as well. The Sunny I just sold Eric has the manual rack. I don't autocross, but I liked it a lot for road course work. Allows putting the alty on the back side for even cleaner look, and no moar leaking lines

My '92 has the Sentra E manual rack with the G-spec power steering pulley delete. It's kind of rough when your speed is low. If you're hardcore about racing and pulling out as much HP and weight as you can, I guess go for it. But if you drive it daily it can be a pain in the ass in parking lots and hard turns. After I drive it, I get in my 97 200sx that still has power steering and I'm amazed at how much easier it is to just get around.
