Brakes are too heavy
Hello guys,
So some time ago i got a set of R32 GTR Front Brakes, they are almost the same as the Z32 but for 30mm rotors, i wanted to do the upgrade for my brakes but then i bought a set of 3000GT rotors (314mm) to get bigger brakes.

Now the issue is that my car is NA and the Rotors weight like 20 lbs each. Would this make my car slower? would it afect that much?

This brake upgrade would look awesome but i dont know if it would mess up all my setup...

I already have U13 Master Cylinder, AD22 in front, maximas in the rear and aluminum brake lines.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

How much would a drilled and slotted rotor weigh for a gt3000?

Stick with the setup you have. It is plenty of brake for your power output and beyond. You're right in assuming the extra weight is not worth the gain(?) in looks.

Dude you are running a DE not a DET. You will only be limited by your tire selection with the AD22's. Only reason you need big brakes is for autox and drag. Remember you are not in a 3500 lbs car (3000GT).

What are you trying to accomplish here? If you're doing it for looks, then why care about the weight? If you feel the need for more braking capability, there are any number of excellent pads available.

You can buy a special polymer composite caliper upgrade that weighs much less than an OEM steel caliper and rotor combination.

Problems solved.

Agreed +10.I autocross A LOT and have never lacked for braking.B14 with stock everything but for the Hawk HPS pads on the front.
As for the look, bigger would look better if you have wheels that show a lotta rotor.Looks cool, weighs a lot.Sometimes ya just gotta decide which way you want to go.Priorities,man.

Ok my priority here is that the car is used some times for circuit racing, and as i know, my current brake setup works great i bought the R32 brakes a lot of time ago. Im hoping to have 170whp soon but still i think is not worth it to have such a big brakes...

I think i will be selling them soon, and try to get better tires...

Thanks all for the opinion, greatly apreciated.

Regards,
