Thread: Factory Spring color???

So Ive only had my car for a month now, put brakes on the car and was looking at the springs and they are blue! Could that have been painted or do I have some non-stock springs? I do know the back sits a little lower than the front.

Stock springs are black. Hyperco are dark blue, Road Magnet I think are light blue. Give us some pics!

hmm the car dont look lowered to me.
progress springs are light blue also...but all the blue springs would make the car lower than that,IMO

well i bought the car for my dd and autox car. Havnt dont any performance mods yet because I've had to put new tires, brakes, and headliner in the car so Im broke!! haha. 117k when i bought it for 2k. Trans is great, motor has a slight tick at a steady rpm but nothing under full throttle.Runs great otherwise. Hoping by the end of the yr to have some fresh paint (roof is pealing)and a few suspension mods to help my autox. Not sure which way to go with the engine yet. But I do know this site is the best! Thanks for the input!

I've got some dark blue springs too, off a B13. I've kind of wondered what they were so I just stuck them up in the attic a few years ago.

Just got some Road magnets for my B13, which are definitively light blue, and the dark blue ones seem the same height (uninstalled) as the Road Magnets.

I compared them to some Eibach Sportline springs I have (uninstalled) and both the dark blue springs and the Road Magnets are taller.


I'll have to find a way to take pictures, maybe someone here can identify these dark blue springs for us.

Do they have progressive coils? You know coils that get tighter at the top? My bro-in-law just got some crappy ebay ones that are the same dark blue as hyperco but they were not progressive coils. just saying one way to tell.

I will check tonight! Rode the bike to work today. Either way, Ill still buy the RM since the springs I have are not low enough or stiff enough. But I definatly check.
