Grinding sound when braking
Hi guys i'm new here.

Here's the list of what i did to get rid of the grinding sound but no luck

1. changed the rotor - no luck
2. changed to 3 different kinds of brake pads - no luck(no grinding sound for one week and then came back again)
3. put some hardware kit (metal shims) into the brake pads - no luck
4. changed my driver side caliper- no luck
5. checked/changed my caliper pins - no luck
6. dust shield checked

car is b14 with stock brakes. problem is when i step on the brakes there is this annoying grinding sound but when accelerating no grinding sound.
inputs are appreciated! TIA GUYS!

Shot in the dark: check your crank pulley to make sure the outer ring hasnt seperated.

ok thanks.. whats that ring? ...the grinding occurs when you only step on the brake. its not caliper related?

Anything loose on the caliper? Maybe the brake line moving around when you apply the brakes? Check the dust shield? Just guessing.Something has to be rubbing somewhere.

all tight on the caliper. its driving me crazy.. when i apply it hard. there's no sound but if its light braking theres grinding sound.

Wheel bearing?
Plastic fender lining hanging down?

Check the caliper and make sure both pistons are moving. You may have a seized piston and you rotor is slightly at an angle. Also are you using slotted rotors?

@ben
tire is not wobbly but il double check on it.

@kc
just normal rotors. il check the pistons. how to fix the angled rotor..should i change it? how come after i change on something it goes away for a week..weirrrddd..and by the way i remembered that i already change the pistons like 3months ago after i overhauled the caliper.

and i already switch the rotor disk from left to right and vice versa and thought the sound will follow but no.. so im sure its not the disk.
